Transcript of Renewable and non renewable resources
Everything comes from something, Nothing comes from nothing
What is Nature?
- the physical Earth and everything in it - the physical Earth and everything in it that is not made of people (ex. are plants, that is not made of people (ex. are plants, animals, mountains, oceans, etc.)animals, mountains, oceans, etc.)
Find any plastic, bottle,or any material that has label or ingredients in it's back.
Read the label or ingredients on it's back.
On a piece of paper, write down the main ingredients that were used to make that food/drink.
Now, think of the materials that were used to package the product. Write these materials on your list.
Learning Objectives:
Lesson 1
1. Differentiate renewable from non-renewable resources2. Draw an icon representing the renewable and non-renewable resources3. Perceive the importance of the natural resources to everyday life
What is natural resources?
Lesson 1
- resources essential for living that comes from the nature and is not made by human.
ex: water, soil, plants, animals, sun, air, minerals, fossil fuels
“What resources were used to make the ingredients/product?”
“What resources were used to package them?”
“Where do these resources come from?”
What are renewable resources?
- these are natural resources that can be replaced in a short period of time.
What are non-renewable resources?
- these are natural resources that cannot be re-made or replaced
What are non-renewable resources?
- these are natural resources that cannot be re-made or replaced
Let's COMPARE!! Write items that were seen here in the classroom and from the outside that are different but came from the same resources.
Let's COMPARE!! Write items that were seen here inside the classroom and from the outside that are similar but is/are made from different resources?
Let's DRAW!! From all the natural resources (RENEWABLE & NON-RENEWABLE), draw an icon/symbol for each categories.
SUMMARYWhat is natural resources? What are some examples?- resources essential for living that comes from the nature and is not made by human.
-water, sun, plants, animals, air, soil, minerals, fossil fuels
SUMMARYWhat are differences between renewable and non-renewable resources?RENEWABLE – can be replaced, biodegradable, from nature
NON-RENEWABLE – cannot be replaced, non-biodegradable, man-made
Let's have a short QUIZ!!Multiple Choice. Choose only the letter of the best answer.1. Resources that can be replaced. A. Renewable C. None of the Above B. Non-renewable D. Both A & B2. Resources that can not be replaced. A. Renewable C. None of the Above B. Non-renewable D. Both A & 3. Which of the following are non-renewable resources? A. Coal C. Water B. Animal D. Trees4. Which of the following qualify as renewable resources? Circle all that apply. A: Oxygen C: Freshwater B: Gasoline D. Fossil Fuels5. Which of the following can be stored for future use? A: Non-renewable resources C. None of the above B: Renewable resources D. Both A & B
ASSIGNMENT At home, list all of the non-renewable resources you use from the time you arrived at home and from the time before you sleep. Write down ways of how can you serve these resources
