Transcript of Renal lymphoma
Renal Lymphoma
• Incidence of renal involvement in patients with
lymphoma is 34-62% in several autopsy series.
• On CT, renal involvement in only 3-8% of all
patients
Renal Lymphoma
• Normal.
• Distortion of the collecting
system resulting from single or
multiple renal masses.
Plain X-Ray/ IVU:
Renal Lymphoma
• May appear normal because of the small size of the
renal nodules
• Single or multiple hypoechoic renal masses.
• Diffuse enlargement.
• Hydronephrosis may be seen because of compression of
the renal hilum.
• Perirenal hypoechoic halo is characteristic of perirenal
lymphoma
US:
Renal Lymphoma
CT :
• Multiple renal masses.
• Solitary mass.
• Renal invasion from contiguous retroperitoneal disease.
• Perirenal disease.
• Diffuse renal infiltration.
Renal Lymphoma
MRI :
• MRI findings in lymphoma are similar to those seen on
CT scans.
• Usually, lymphoma displays low signal intensity on T1-
weighted images, and it is either isointense or moderately
hyperintense on T2-weighted images.
• Lymphomatous tissue may be minimally enhancing, but
less than the normal renal parenchyma; therefore, it
remains hypointense relative to the kidney on contrast-
enhanced T1-weighted MRIs
