Sessions for Adam's Lake Band community.Acupuncture is now well known and accepted in the Western world. It has long been useful to
change one's experience of pain and discomfort into easier and healthier states of being. What is maybe less well understood is that chronic conditions are rooted in the subconscious
realms of one's being. Whether it be insomnia, digestion difficulties, emotional or physical pain, menstrual difficulties, headaches, migraines, relationship difficulties, or whatever other physicalpresentation of disharmony, the more one resists the message from the subconscious, the longerand more complex the symptoms as the situation becomes chronic. "What we resist, persists" isindeed an accurate saying.

"Child Trauma & Attachment"
Dr. Bruce Perry is a clinician and researcher in children's mental health and the
neurosciences, and an internationally recognized authority on children in crisis.
"The development ofa young child isprofoundly influenced by experience. Experiences - goodand bad - shapethe organization of thebrain. The ultimate effect is to impact emotional, social, cognitive and physiological functioning. Insights into this process come from understanding brain development. Both trauma and neglect, the absence of essential developmental experiences required to express a funda
mentalpotentialof a child, are pervasive problems inour culture. Various forms of neglect are possible and include splinter neglect, totalglobalneglect and emotional or relational neglect. Chaos, threat and abnormal patterns of emotional, social, cognitive and physical interactions with young children lead to an array of brain-related problems. Thispresentation will review clinicalwork and research that can help us
better understand developmental trauma, neglect and the relationalproblemsthat arise from neglect and threat. An overview will be provided that suggests new directions for clinical practice, program development and policy makers."
