ELECTROWELDED GRATING
REJILLAS ELECTROSOLDADAS, S.A. was established back in 1982 and it is the personal achievement of its founder, Ginés Pagán Martínez (1935-2008), who gained experience in the family foundry and then became hardened in the iron and steel industry during his youth. In 1964 he managed to found his first firm to manufacture metal pressed grating in all its forms and finishes.
In 1972 he introduced the electro-welded system in Spain under patent protection, thereby turning RELESA into the undisputed number one in the manufacture of grating. During the next forty-odd years the firm has held this leadership position owing to the constant application of state-of-the-art technology and a highly skilled human team involved with the firm's ongoing success.
All these resources have reinforced RELESA GROUP position in the market, enabling the creation in 1997 of his own galvanizing plant GALVAME (Galvanizados del Mediterráneo, S.L.) and the slittering line LIDECOR (Línea de Corte S.L.) in 2004, thus completing the vertical integration of its whole production system.

The WELDED GRATING has a wide range of applications in the industrial, construction and energy sectors. Provided below, you can find a few examples of the most common uses:
DESCRIPTION AND APPLICATIONSDESCRIPTION
USAGE AREAS
The grating is an assembled grid composed of several metallic strips (bearing bar) with the same dimensions, arranged parallel and separated from each other at different measurements depending on the mesh spacing, with cross bars forge-welded perpendicularly at the contact points with the bearing bars providing the grille a high degree of strength and rigidity.
WELDED GRATING is composed of three main elements:
1. BEARING BAR Hot-rolled carbon steel strip manufactured according to the international quality standards, the most common quality is S 235 JR, with low Si content. Bearing bars are available from 20 mm to 100 mm, normally in intervals of 5 mm height, and in thickness of 2, 3, 4 and 5 mm.
2. CROSS BAR Twisted square or round bar according to EN 10016-2 standard (C4D quality), with dimensions of 4, 5, 6 and 8 mm. This element is used to space and hold bearing bars erect.
3. BINDING BAR Laminated strip manufactured in the same quality as the bearing bar, with a _ _ shaped section, which is automatically welded to the end of each bearing bar.
RELESA can supply STAINLESS STEEL gratings. Please, consult our special conditions.

Our Engineering Department, equipped with the latest CAD-CAM systems, can design complete grating layouts for each project in accordance with our clients’ requirements and current standards.
Our IT Department has developed and optimized a Design Software based in CAD-CAM facilities, adapting this system to the specific needs and demands of our production lines.
Starting from the construction drawings and specification of current issue showing the layout of supports and floor openings correctly dimensioned, RELESA can provide technical advice and the drawings with gratings distribution for any application.

NOTE
LOADS and WEIGHTS:All loads shown are based on engineering computations using gross sections and nominal sizes of bearing bars.
The values listed are for design selection only and are not intended to be "absolute" since actual load capacity will be affected slightly by variations which can be expected due to material and manufacturing tolerances.
The loading values shown in these tables are for gratings with smooth bearing bars , galvanized finish and DO NOT INCLUDE THE DEAD WEIGHT OF THE GRATING.
The weights (kN/M2) are approximate and provided for preliminary design computations only and are not intended for any other purpose. Loads and weights are "THEORETICAL" and based on static loading.
SERRATED GRATING:For SERRATED grating, the depth of grating required for a specified load is 6 mm greater than that shown in the table (or 5 mm greater depending on the selected table and the bearing bar dimension range).

OFFSHORE SAFETY GRATING
This grating has been developed for offshore industries and specially for flooring use in the North Sea offshore rigs.
The "offshore" safety grating is a variation of standard electrowelded grating with an intermediate round bar welded to the underside of the twisted transverse bars. That way the original mesh is reduced to prevent small objects from falling through the grating. This grating is usually supplied with serrated bearing bars.
The special design of this grating allows to prevent a ball of 15 mm diameter or objects of corresponding size from passing through the open mesh flooring.
This satisfies particular safety regulations such as those required by the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate.

RELESA Special Heavy Duty Gratings are sturdy gratings designed to support static or large rolling loads. They are exclusively manufactured by pressed system but with steel strips thicker and higher than the habitual ones: Thickness: 5 mm, 8 mm and 10 mm. Depth: range up to 100 mm (in intervals of 10 mm).
The carrying capacity differs with the type of grating used; therefore we recommend to inquire our Engineering Department.

SIGHTPROOF LOUVRE GRATINGS
OPEN LOUVRE GRATING
Screening made of welded inclined bearing bars can be manufactured with closely spaced louvres which allow air circulation and let light pass through, providing in turn plenty of privacy.
Screens with wider spacing between the louvres have the same characteristics as the previous one, however, the degree of separation between the welded louvres increases the visibility.
