managed backup and restore for Application Subsystems/File systems and Microsoft SQL

Databases through client operation tasks. This backup software helps customers to protect

vital enterprise data, restore from backup during any disaster which minimizes the data loss

and operational cost. For additional data protection and data recovery, the Spectrum Protect

server can be setup with the node replication capability.

In this release, the IBM Resiliency Orchestration software provides the DR management

capabilities such as monitoring of Backup SLAs, Failover, Failover Test Exercise and recovery for MS SQL Databases and Application Subsystems with point in time.

System Z Mainframe (zLPAR) Protection with IBM CSM (Sysplex)

A Sysplex or system complex is a collection of z/OS systems (LPARs) that cooperate, using certain hardware and software products, to process work. It is a clustering technology that can provide near-continuous availability.

As data is shared across Sysplex, the recovery process is complex. IBM Resiliency Orchestrator is providing DR recovery and drill workflows with capabilities to bring down the primary systems cleanly by stopping all services, recover the data from primary to recovery site using global mirroring. Recovery Automation Library to define the coupling facility policies and bring up the recovery site as primary.

Other Enhancements • The IBM Resiliency orchestrator added the Dryrun capabilities for the existing SAP

HANA Drills.

• Custom Replicator framework is extended to build monitor replication page in web

format also along with text format.

lists in the Recovery Group's Drills page.

• Cyber DR NetApp with Actifio solution: Confirm snapshot message is not proper for

Cyber DR Test workflow.

• Configuration (CR platform) Scan workflow is not triggering as per schedule after Panaces

restart.

• Cyber DR NetApp with Actifio solution: Events are not raised when replication status is

in inactive state.

• IBM Cloud object storage support for Cyber Platform Solution on Windows platform

• The Airgap solution for Cyber Platform and Cyber Data

• The snapshot health validation workflow scheduler frequency for Cyber Data

• Actifio credential edit in protection scheme page has limitation

• Fetch log feature has limitations in some specific scenarios

• Dataset cloning for Oracle dataset has limitation under certain scenario

Version 7.3 The IBM Resiliency 7.3 release version is one of the milestone releases of IBM Resiliency Orchestration Platform. This release highlights the product vision and how IBM Resiliency Orchestration is being shaped for future. The 7.3 release introduces Cyber Resiliency solution into IBM Resiliency Orchestration to provide resiliency in event of cyber-attacks along with strengthening the existing multi-cloud portfolio.

Features

Cyber Resiliency

Cyber Resiliency is the ability of an organization to continue to function with the least amount of disruption in the face of cyber-attacks. IBM Resiliency Orchestration 7.3 release includes the following new features to address the growing need for rapid recovery in the face of a Cyber Attack.

Cyber Incident Recovery for Applications/Data

This solution provides recovery against cyber-attacks that corrupt the data/application. The solution replicates the data from servers and storage using the Actifio copy data management to a virtually air-gaped IBM immutable storage located at the Cyber Data site of the customer and maintains multiple read-only snapshot copies.

Page 10: Release Notes€¦ · vital enterprise data, restore from backup during any disaster which minimizes the data loss and operational cost. For additional data protection and data recovery,

In event of a Cyber outage, it provides the user the ability to select the right copy (unaffected/ validated) to be rapidly restored to the Cyber Data compute infrastructure and Cyber Data storage infrastructure.

The highlights of this feature are:

• Component Discovery: Low touch discovery and configuration of application

• Point in Time Replication: User can take the snapshot of data/application leveraging Actifio Backup Custom solution for point in time recovery

• Air-gapped Immutable Storage: User can take the back up of snapshot into virtually air-gapped IBM COS immutable storage for Cyber resilient data solution

• Real-time monitoring: User can monitor the CR RPO, CR RTO, Replication information, Pending snapshot status

• Snapshot Validation: User can provide inputs on cyber recovery health status of data/application snapshots copy

• Drills: User can perform on demand drill (FOTE) to validate the recovery readiness

• Efficient Point in time recovery: User can perform instant recovery of healthy snapshot on event of any cyber threat

• Events: User can manage the Cyber Data site through different monitoring events

• Reports and Dashboard: Intuitive dashboard and reports to provide a complete overview

of the Cyber Data state of application based on user selection

Cyber Incident Recovery for Platform Configuration

The Cyber Incident Recovery for Platform Configuration is a complete, affordable cyber

recovery solution for components such as operating systems, storage arrays and network

switches which are running in the environment. The solution copies the configuration data of

these devices and servers into IBM immutable storage located in IBM clouds or IBM Resiliency

Data Center and alerts the user when there is a suspicious change in the configuration and

rapidly restores the original configuration on to the impacted devices or servers based on

policies.

The highlights of this feature are as follows:

• OS/Device Discovery: This functionality helps in discovering different endpoints such as

OS and Devices

• Create Profile Component: User can reuse pre-canned or create user-defined critical/non-

critical configuration monitoring profile to monitor attached endpoints

• Managing Configuration: User can maintain the golden copy of platform configuration in

an air-gapped immutable IBM COS storage.

• Configuration Alerts: User can perform pre-scheduled and on-demand platform

configuration change alerts monitoring

• Exposure Management: User can perform recover/revert operation on platform change

exposure alerts by validating the change

• Reports and Dashboard: Intuitive dashboard and reports to provide a complete snapshot

of platform configuration changes based on user selections
