Tribute To Andrew MoritzThe Huskies played in the Jimmy V Classic to honorthe former coach that displayed a fighting spirit againstcancer that serves as an inspiration. Former Husky Bas-ketball walk on Andrew Moritz embodied that samefighting attitude through his own brave battle withcancer. On Nov. 26, Moritz succumbed to his three-yearfight with a rare sarcoma -- desmoplastic round celltumor. Moritz, 33, was a walk-on player from 1996-

99 who played on two NCAA tournament teams. Hewas diagnosed in 2008 with his disease and only givena few months to live. Despite scoring just 17 points in 78minutes over 34 games in a 4-year span, Moritz wasa popular teammate and leader of his squads. UWhonored his memory with a patch displaying his initialsduring the Marquette game and presented his familywith a No. 11 jersey and played with an AM patch onthe court vs. Oregon State.
