A relaxing massage, with major health benefitsAt the very heart of the Adjustamatic story, we find the

NHC Cyclo-Therapy effect.

Massage itself is as old as any form of human therapy.

Generally safe, non-invasive and instantly soothing,

it’s not surprising there have been, over the centuries,

numerous attempts to devise patented mechanical or

automatic approaches to provide the benefits without

the special skills, time and sheer physical work

massage tends to demand.

The machine age opened up a variety of new

opportunities in massage, but most of these systems

were seriously flawed. Whilst they delivered the

massage energy by various means, all involved some

form of pounding, often piston-like or hammering,

action.

While this may have apparent effect in stimulating

muscle and tissue, the jolting and rattling side-effects

often cancel out any real benefit.

In total contrast,

NHC Cyclo-Therapy, which

is incorporated into our

products, works on a radically

different principle. It uses a

unique elliptical movement

operating like a gyroscope

and creates a soothing

cyclodial (instead of jarring)

vibration. This is achieved by the fact the multi-

directional energy waves are moving left/right, up/

down whilst rotating on a constant basis.

The result? A deep, gentle and relaxing massage

treatment without any of the conventional

side-effects.

"My whole body is so much more

relaxed, people close to me have

also noticed the difference in me.

To be perfectly honest I cannot

believe how great I feel."

Ms Francis, Suffolk

Arthritis and back pain

Arthritic pain of the joints has

been shown to be reduced

considerably – and in some cases

eliminated, by the application

of vibration therapy. One of the

causes of arthritic-like conditions

is the build-up of metabolic waste

material in the synovial fluid,

resulting in irritation and increased

swelling/inflammation in and

around the joint. Following the

application of cyclodial vibration,

joint pain and swelling is reduced,

resulting in improved joint and

general mobility. Cyclodial

vibration therapy will not cure the

underlying cause of the arthritis

but can help relieve the symptoms

such as pain, reduced joint

movement and mobility.

Circulatory problems –

Oedema/swelling

Oedema is an abnormal

accumulation of fluid beneath the

skin or in one or more cavities of

the body that produces swelling

with peripheral lower limb oedema

being the most common, which

results from water retention. The

vibration you receive whilst relaxing

in an Adjustamatic bed or chair

penetrates the vascular cells and

activates a number of chemical

reactions, including the release of

nitric oxide, a muscle relaxer. This

relaxes the muscle walls of the

blood and lymph vessels, increases

the diameter of the veins and

arteries which results in dilation

and greater blood flow.

Respiration – COPD

(Chronic Obstructive

Pulmonary Disease),

Bronchiectasis, Asthma. The positional benefits of our

products may help alleviate

the secondary symptoms of

some respiratory conditions by

aiding muscle relaxation and

help mobilise chest congestion

to improve the process of chest

clearance.

Wounds

Cyclodial vibration improves

circulation which increases the

delivery of healthy oxygenated

blood and the removal of waste

products and toxins. This can

improve the healing of soft tissue

injury and wounds like leg ulcers.

Increased circulation stimulates

the production processes involved

in healing and regeneration of cells

and soft tissue.

Nervous system

Tension, anxiety and insomnia often

occur with muscle tightness or

tension. This can be a severe and

constant problem for sufferers of

cerebral palsy, post stroke victims

and following spinal injuries.

Muscle tightness or spasm can

result in reduced mobility and

pain. Reducing muscle tightness

or spasticity by using NHC Cyclo-

Therapy will improve joint mobility

and movement as well as lead to

general relaxation.

Feel the differenceWhen applied non-invasively to the skin, directly to or surrounding an area of pain, cyclodial vibration is

a non-pharmacological aid to generate pain relief.

Cyclodial vibration can stimulate alternative nerve fibres that don’t carry pain signals, stimulating

enough of these alternative nerve fibres that then block pain transmitted signals from the source of the

pain. This results in an analgesic effect, raised pain threshold levels and subsequently a reduction in

pain. Cyclodial vibration along with the positional adjustments available in our products can help relieve

the symptoms of a range of medical conditions:

Recommended by healthcare

professionalsAll of our cyclodial vibration products are CE marked and certified as

CLASS IIa Medical Devices as regulated by the UK Medicines and

Healthcare Regulatory Authority (MHRA).

This means that we have had to meet strict European Standards and

demonstrate on an on-going basis the evidence, quality, safety and

effectiveness of our products to deliver numerous benefits to the user.

Q I’m a bad sleeper and often

find myself waking up in the

middle of the night. What would

you recommend?

A If you find yourself waking up

in the night or struggling to get

to sleep in the first place, don’t

just lie there. If after 20 minutes

you’re still awake, adjust your

bed to an upright position and

do something relaxing like read

a magazine or listen to an audio

book until you feel sleepy. For

more help, NHC Cyclo-Therapy is

a unique form of massage therapy

that is medically proven to help

relax the body to get you a better

night’s sleep.

Q I find sleep painful due to my

arthritis and poor circulation,

leaving me stiff and in pain. Is

there anything I can do to get a

better night’s sleep?

A Alarming new research has

shown that 1 in 5 of us wakes

up in pain so you are not alone.

Conditions such as arthritis and

poor circulation can make it

difficult to get comfortable and

find a position that doesn’t cause

pain. Getting the right support

from your bed is crucial to ensure

you don’t put unnecessary

strain on your spine or body.

Adjustamatic’s adjustable beds

and NHC Cyclo-Therapy adapt

to your body, relieving the stress

with proven results of reduced

joint pain, relaxed muscles and

improved joint mobility so you can

feel more relaxed.

Q What is the best sleeping

position to get me to sleep?

A Some people only get

comfortable in one sleeping

position while others choose to

sleep in a variety of ways. What

is most important is that you

can easily find these positions

so feel free to experiment with

the adjustable aspect of an

Adjustamatic bed. Whichever

position is right for you, make sure

you feel supported and your back

maintains the natural curve of the

spine to minimise stresses and

strains.

“1 in 5 of us wakes up in pain.

Getting the right support from

your bed is crucial.”Sammy MargoSleep Physiotherapist and Expert,

author of The Good Sleep Guide.

Research has shown that 1 in 3 of us suffers with aches and pains

which interfere with our being able to get a good night’s sleep.

At Adjustamatic, we don’t find this acceptable, which is why we

enlisted the help of sleep expert and physiotherapist Sammy Margo,

to provide some helpful tips and answer some of the most frequent

questions regarding getting the best night’s sleep possible.

Sleep better, feel healthier

Perfect for sleeping on your side,

this position provides both comfort

and support as it maintains the

spine’s alignment while reducing

pressure points.

For those who suffer from

circulation problems such as

swollen ankles, water retention

and varicose veins, this position

presents relief as the feet are raised

higher than the rest of the body.

Perfect for breakfast in bed or

relaxing with a book before sleep,

the head up position is also great

for those with respiratory problems

and makes getting in and out of bed

so simple.

Why adjust to your bed - when it can adjust to you?The importance of having the right bed cannot be emphasised enough.

If you are sleeping on a bed that is too hard or too soft then you are not being supported correctly. Even the simple

pleasures of sleeping or reading in bed can be disrupted by a bad bed. Propping up a cushion may seem like an

acceptable solution but this will put extra stress on your back and a lack of support can aggravate back pains and

breathing problems. But if you had a bed that adjusted to the perfect position for you, you need not worry about

these problems again.
