• The MeshMate unit has four plastic caps which are approximately 35mm long, have a lip and a nominal cover at the tip which will aid to combat the capillary action and the ingress of moisture from exposed wire tips.

• This unit will set a high standard for all wire four leg spacers.

• RBSC’s Mesh Mate has been designed to Comply with the New Bar Chair Standards AS/NZ:2425:2015 which states;

“Protective-tipped wire bar chairs shall be examined after cessation of load test. The bar chair shall not exhibit evidence of penetration of wire end through the protective plastic coating or sleeve under the tip of the wire leg”.

WHAT CAN CAUSE CONCRETE CANCER?

Concrete Cancer ussually occurs when moisture reacts with any exposed wire within hardened concrete causing it to rust.

In some instances Plastic Tipped Wire Spacers have become a “wick” allowing the ingress of moisture up the leg due to damage caused by friction of the soft plastic coated tip and the formwork due to a lot of human traffic over the mesh once it has been put in place.

HOW CAN THE RISK BE REDUCED?

RBSC have deloped a new and improved version of the Plastic Tipped Wire Spacer called the “Mesh Mate”

Slab on Ground Plastic Reinforcement Spacers are manufactured with a reinforced rib between the castellated top section to add strength and stability.

A wire tie can be placed around the central, reinforcing ribs to secure the unit to the Reinforcement, or a rubber tie, placed over the tabs to achieve a total Non-Corrosive fixture.

This design will greatly facilitate the accurate placing of reinforcement. Each unit allows for two different reinforcement covers.

A wire tie can be placed around the central, reinforcing ribs to secure the unit to the reinforcement, or a rubber tie, placed over the legs to achieve a total Non-Corrosive fixture.

A simple to use, all plastic unit, designed to offer maximum stability in all directions, as well as offering a large area to minimise puncturing of membranes, or the effects of soft soil conditions.

Through flow of the concrete is assisted by the open, sloping rail designs, and the reinforcement is securely clipped. The range of rods that can be held is from 4mm to 16mm.Nominal spacing of 150mm, 175mm & 200mm can be achieved.

The Tower Spacer has been one of the most significant advances in ducting and reinforcement spacers in the past decade. These units combine several unique features not found in any other spacers available today.

Two-legged towers suitable for off-form finishes, or incorporating a base for slab on ground applications.

With the centre support these units are one of the strongest on the market.

Both of the above spacers are manufactured in plastic and have a rebated top that allows for the placement of reinforcement bar and mesh. They are non-corrosive and allow for the units to be tied, if required, using a plastic zip lock for environments that require a fully non corrosive option or with the standard wire ties, but please refer to any engineering specifications.

Circular Plastic spacers are the ideal choice for all vertical applications. Their circular shape can give cover of up to 180° plane, reducing the number of spacers often needed and ensuring concrete coverage should the spacer turn. High cut-out areas ensure good concrete flow minimising the danger of voids under the spacer in a vertical pour. They are light to carry and the fast clip-on action makes them much easier to fix than traditional methods.

Safety ProductsBAR & PICKET GUARD

Caps are 75mm long with moulded internal fluting which is compressed with movement of the dowel bar.

The cap end design accommodates standard dowel bars in one multi-fitting unit, thus reducing stocks that need to be held.

Both units are supplied with the cap in the closed position.

Simply push on the cap at the bar end. The cap will open to accommodate the larger dowel.

This unit is manufactured in yellow plastic to assists in making the reinforcement ends easily seen, as well as to guard against injury from rough edges left when reinforcement is cut, or pickets driven into the ground.

The thicker section at the top, the rounded end, and the six flutes inside all add up to a better and more effective unit, and is an exclusive registered design developed by RBSC for greater safety on building sites.

These units have one completely open end, unlike our expansion caps and rod protectors which are provided with a collapsible cap to prevent ingress of concrete during placement. The Bar & Picket Guard has tie points for bunting or to enable fastening to bar, rod, pickets etc.

Pro-longed exposure to the elements may cause the unit to become brittle and fade. This product is suitable for use with Bars 10mm – 36mm.

FENCE POST CAP (TIE DOWN)

Safety Products FPC FENCE POST CAP 100 4.0 50

Reference Description Qty/Bag Weight Bag/Kg Bags/Pal

This Cap is a simple and effective way to protect the exposed end of star pickets and large peg heads that have become burred from being hammered into the ground. Unlike the Bar and Picket Guard it doesn’t have internal fluting so can accommodate larger pickets, rods, bar, and large tent pegs used on marquees. It has two open slots to allow straining wires to pass easily though the plastic protective cap which help in effectively holding it in position.

Moulded in yellow plastic to make them noticeable, these units incorporate two small ears which can be effectively used with electrified fencing arrangement, or the securing of bunting etc., as they retain any wires in an insulated position on the picket, whilst at the same time preventing them from becoming earthed, but please refer to safety standards where applicable.

This item is not a stock item, please allow 10 working days from confirmation of order.

Simple and cost-effective, the versatility of Podfix cruciform spacers, which enables them to be easily cut to shape on site, makes them Australia’s preferred pod spacer.

The Podfix System has been developed in Australia using the latest technologies to incorporate features and solve problems that have only now become possible to overcome. The Podfix Cruciform spacer has the highest load carrying capacity of any available waffle spacer. Its single immensely strong central tower section enables reinforcing elements to be placed with great ease, accuracy and security. If a T or L shaped spacer is required Podfix cruciforms can be easily cut, using tin snips or similar, to the required shape and offcuts used as separate spacers. Podfix top mesh spacers are designed to minimise damage to void surfaces when used in adverse conditions.

VOID VOID

Podfix spacers have been developed to provide multi-purpose units for use in voided constructions of many types.

Some of the factors which have contributed to the success of Podfix spacers include:

• ease of site preparation• ease & speed of void form and reinforcement installation• integrity of the void matrix by the locking together of the main reinforcement bars ensuring three-dimensional concrete cover to the bars.

The volume of concrete to create a given void slab an be easily and precisely calculated.

The ultimate properties of void raft slabs are of course dependent on their design parameters and quality of their components.

Carefully controlled steel and concrete quality, together with the precise and secure location of void forms and reinforcing elements

The Podfix system is a revolutionary system of lost formwork used to produce concrete void floor structures of superior quality

The Podfix system for voided slab construction

The Podfix Spacer is most effective when used with void forms. Illustrations are for guidance only.

The Podfix System when used as directed will produce floor structures of immense strength and low environmental impact by ensuring that the concrete and steel elements are accurately located precisely where required with no waste. The Podfix System plastic components are quality products and are designed to withstand high shock loads as well as static loads.

Podfix Systems have been designed to comply with all present Australian Standards and codes.

offered by Podfix spacers, will produce a slab of the highest quality, of predictable physical properties and the longest possible service life.

The inherent depth of voided slabs compared with solid slabs of the same concrete volume enables greater strength and stiffness to be achieved.

Because of the nature of a voided slab, with voids remaining in-situ after the concrete has cured, a degree of insulation is achieved for both temperature and acoustically when compared with solid construction. In essence, the voided slab is engineered to utilize its components most effectively. This means that bulk concrete used in typical monolithic construction can, in some cases, be displaced. where there is no structural reason for its use.

Major savings in material costs and dramatic reduction in construction mass can be achieved by employing voided construction.
