We use Simple Past to talk about an action completed in the past at a definite time.

We use DID as the helping verb in negative sentences and questions.

The negative is formed with did + not and the infinitive:

Did + subject + verb ? OR

Wh- + did + subject + verb?

The interrogative is formed with did + infinitive:

SPELLING:1. Regular verbs ending in - e we add - d.

2. If the verb ends in a -y we drop off the -y

and add -ied.
