Mateo es un muchacho muy aventurero. A él le gusta ir de vacaciones
en países diferentes. Un verano, Mateo va de camping en las
montañas de Perú. Antes de ir, él va a REI para comprar una tienda,
porque se venden muchas tiendas allí. Habla con un hombre que trabaja en REI. Le
dice, «Voy de camping en las montañas de Perú. Necesito comprar una tienda, pero

dinero y lo cuenta. «Sí, lo siento. Sólo tengo $150.00. ¿Hay otra tienda?»
El hombre piensa por un momento y responde, «Sí, hay otra, pero no es muy buena.
Es muy pequeña y es difícil de construir». «Está bien», responde Mateo, «No tengo
otra opción.» Mateo compra la tienda y regresa1 a su casa para preparar. Se duerme
a las ocho de la noche porque tiene que estar en el aeropuerto a las seis. La próxima
mañana, Mateo se levanta a las cuatro. Lleva pantalones cómodos, una camisa y una
chaqueta al aeropuerto. Agarra su tienda y sus maletas2. Su mamá lo
lleva al aeropuerto en su carro. Allí, Mateo abraza a su mamá y le dice, «No
tengas miedo. Voy a llamarte todos los días. Nada mala me pasará.» Finalmente,
