FRIENDS OF THE FOREST: JUNE 22-26Spend the week learning about all the woodland creatures that hop, scurry, climb, and fly through the forest. Together we will learn how to help our wild friends and learn about their homes. We will have some fun exploring the habitats, sounds, feels, and sights of all the forest friends!

CAPTAIN RACER’S OCEAN ADVENTURE: JUNE 29-JULY 3 Ahoy mateys, there be sea creatures in these waters! Call me Captain Racer. I am looking for a scallywag crew of campers like you to join me this week! Climb aboard and prepare to learn about the wild and wonderful animals that call the ocean home, with enough games, crafts, and songs to keep even a pirate entertained!

OCEAN EXPLORERS: JUNE 8-12, JUNE 29-JULY3, & JULY 27-31Dive in for a week under the sea! Campers will visit some beachy areas and learn about the creatures that live there. Become an explorer to descend into the undiscovered depths of the ocean! We will examine all the unique fish and animals of open ocean and deep sea alike.

SURF AND TURF: JUNE 15-19 & JULY 13-17 Sand between your toes and wind in your hair – this week we are heading to the beach! The most popular place to go in Florida is also a habitat for many incredible critters that have lived there much longer than we have. From squawking sea birds to shy coquinas, discover how wildlife thrive in the places where land meets the sea!

BIRDS OF A FEATHER: JUNE 22-26 & JULY 20-24Grab your binoculars! We will be learning all about birds! Many birds come to Southwest Florida to nest or even just to rest while they are traveling on their way up North. We will explore many areas including beaches, wildlife trails, and out on the water where birds are, and you may even get to meet some birds up close!

TROUBLED SEAS: JUNE 8-12, JUNE29-JULY 3, & JULY 27-31 Pollution is everywhere! Come find out ways you can help animals like sea turtles, dolphins, and whales. Many animals off the coast of Florida struggle with mistaking plastic for food! What alternatives can you come up with to help these animals? Do you know what microplastics are? We are going to find out ways to help animals and go to the beach to explore!

EBB AND FLOW: JUNE 15-19 & JULY 13-17Environments are always changing within the beaches and bays of southwest Florida. As a biologist, discover the challenges plants and animals face, and their adaptations that help with survival. Take a journey to the estuary to find these critters yourself and enjoy investigating in the field!

CSI: CRITTER SCENE INVESTIGATORS: JUNE 22-26 & JULY 20-24 Grab your magnifying glasses and put on your detective hats, we have a scene to investigate…a critter scene that is! The wildlife of Florida may not always be visible to us, but that doesn’t mean they are not there. This week we will examine animal tracks, owl pellets, and other clues to help put together a story of the behavior and diet of animals living in our own back-

yards!

GUARDIANS OF THE GULF: JUNE 8-12 Welcome to the Gulf of Mexico, an ancient basin of 660 quadrillion gallons of water. Here, amazing wildlife like sharks and sea turtles abound - but there is trouble in paradise! Oil spills, dead zones, and more threaten the residents of this unique marine ecosystem. This week we will a look at our ecological impacts on the Gulf and learn about the action plans we can take to help!

NATURE’S NURSERIES: JUNE 15-19 Let’s learn all about animal nurseries! Estuaries are a vital part of life for many baby animals during their first few years of life. Some adult species, like sea turtles and sharks come back here for food, and we will learn about some of the research projects that are involved with those animals. We will be exploring ways that mangroves and oyster beds help animals and play an important part in their ecosystems!

SWAMP SLEUTHS: JULY 20-24Discover the mysteries of the swamp and spend the week investigating the wildlife of the wetlands. Observe your surroundings on a wet walk as you immerse yourself one of Florida’s most unique habitats. This week we will have learning all about ecosystem dynamics of the wetlands!

NATURE’S NURSERIES: JULY 13-17 Mangroves are one of Florida’s natural nurseries. Many juvenile animals depend on this habitat to grow and survive their first few years of life. We will be going to a variety of ecosystems to learn all about these important habitats! We will be doing hands-on research out in the field, and this week also includes 10 hours of volunteer service.

SALTWATER SCIENCE: JULY 27-31 How far can sharks migrate? Can coral reefs survive warming ocean temperatures? How are sea turtles able to nest on the same beaches on which they hatched decades before? These are just a few of the many questions that face Florida’s marine biologists. Join us this week as we take the Junior Naturalists to the lab, field, and classroom to investigate these questions and more, with the help of marine scientists and their research. This week also includes 10 hours of volunteer service!
