Honors Program
• All honor students in the Class of 2022 are required to complete
27 credits from the prescribed college preparatory curriculum.
Students following this curriculum will have 21 required graduation
credits and 6 additional credits of your choice. (Includes 8th Grade
Carnegie Unit Algebra I courses)
• Honors Program students will be required to complete a minimum
of 15 courses at the Honors, Gifted, or Dual Enrollment level; as
well as an Art elective, IBCA, PE/Health and all remaining
requirements in order to complete the Honors Program.
Valedictorian Requirements• The valedictorian(s) for the graduating Class of 2022
will be the Honor Graduate(s) with the highest weighted GPA. No salutatorian will be named if co-valedictorians are designated. All valedictorian candidates are required to complete a mandatory 18 credits from the prescribed college preparatory curriculum while meeting all requirements of the Honors Program. Of the 18 mandatory credits, one has to be a dual enrollment English OR Math course. In addition, a composite of a 27 on the ACT must be achieved by the February ACT test date of their senior year in order to be considered for the distinction.

When weighting the student’s cumulative grade point average, only the
mandatory 18 credits for valedictorian will be included in the weighted,
recognition grade point average and is for ceremonial purposes only. If
courses are pursued outside of the 18 courses, an equivalent course within the
same subject can be substituted into the calculations. Equivalent courses are
designated with the open bullets in the chart below.
Example: If both Physics and Biology II are present on the transcript, the
course with the highest average will be used in the weighted grade point
average calculations.
DUAL ENROLLMENT• Student receives both high school and college credit – ONLY JUNIORS AND
SENIORS TAKE DUAL ENROLLMENT COURSES
• ACT score minimums: Math 19 English 18 Composite 19
• GPA: 2.5
• Must adhere to university policies and do not have access to Iberia Parish’s recovery
programs
• There is a cost of tuition for each course—Iberia Parish will fund one Math or one
English course for all enrolled students. Additional courses are the financial
responsibility of students and their parents. Students will not be allowed to enroll in a
course for which they have not paid, per the Dual Enrollment contract. The deadline
will be announced when the contract is finalized. Tuition may be due prior to the start
of the 20-21 school year.

Test Recovery and Grading Period Recovery
1. Assessment/Test Recovery –
Sign up with your teacher
2. Grading Period Recovery - See Mrs.
Ransonet in the library to sign up. Fill out a
form with her; she will call you in to give you
the information to begin the Grading Period
Recovery. You must sign up within a week of
receiving your report card, and you have until
the end of the following grading period to
complete the recovery—including taking the
cumulative exam.
Online Classes - Credit Recovery and Initial Credit
1. See your Counselor in Guidance to pick up
an application to fill out and get a parent
signature.
2. You will be assigned one grading period at a
time.
3. All assignments AND tests must be
completed before the next grading period is
added.
Tutoring Schedule- Tutoring is held on:

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
• Students will be held responsible for schedule
requests. No schedule changes will be granted
after the first week of each school year.
• If you do not turn in your schedule request form,
your counselor will make your schedule, and you
will not be able to change any of the courses that
the counselor schedules for you!!!
• It is YOUR responsibility to turn in this form if you
want to make your own choices!!!
IMPORTANT INFORMATION• Parents must sign the registration form before students
can turn it in.
• Please submit registration forms to your counselor ASAP!
• Individual Graduation Plans are stapled to the scheduling
form. Please make corrections on this form also and write
in the top right corner what your plans are after you
graduate. The IGP is a state mandated form; you and
your parent must sign the 10th grade column at the
bottom of the IGP form.
• Consent Form - You and your parent MUST sign this
form for me to be able to send any academic information
anywhere, including to the state DOE to validate your
transcript for graduation.
