SCOPE AND OBJECTIVES

The benefits of Web mining includes developing effective

web applications, higher trade volumes, react to customer

needs faster, increase profitability by reducing production

costs. Also, the invasion of privacy in terms of the web

usages, contents and their structures are analyzed. The

outcome of this seminar is to provide a platform for

promoting discussion and interaction in recent

developments on Web mining. This will certainly motivate

them to guide student projects and do enhanced research

work in this area.

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

The department was started in 1987, and it has grown

excellently in academic and research work. The department

is also offering M.E. in Computer Science and Engineering

since 1999. CSE department is recognized as research center

by Anna University, Tirunelveli. The department is equipped

with the state of art computing and Internet facilities and

supported by experienced and well-qualified faculty

members. More than 85% of the students have been

recruited by the leading IT organizations in Campus

Interview. The department faculty are currently doing

research on Medical Image processing, Biometric processing,

Distributed systems, Network Security and Grid computing .
