The Parliament of St. Kitts and Nevis has extended the State of Emergency declared on June 15 through December 32, 2021. The extension will help effectively manage the COVID-19 pandemic in the Federation. The Republic of Panama has continued its vaccination strategy. The Ministry of Health has indicated sufficient doses of the Pfizer and AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines are available for the populations that want to be vaccinated. The regional health authorities have called on men and women 30 years and older to register and schedule their vaccine appointments. From 9 June through 1 July over 50,000 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine have been administered in the Metropolitan Health Region.

CoV-2 variant known as Alpha; on 18 December 2020, the authorities of the Republic of South Africa reported to WHO a SARS-CoV-2 variant known as Beta; and, on 13 January 2021, the authorities of Brazil reported to WHO a SARS-CoV-2 variant known as Gamma. SARS-CoV-2 variants Alpha, Beta, and Gamma are defined as Variants of Concern (VOC), together with variant
Delta , identified in India in October 2020.1 Starting on 18 December 2020, WHO shared that information with authorities across the globe about SARS-CoV-2 VOC and
Variants of Interest (VOI), through dedicated channels established under the International Health Regulations (IHR), as well with the public through the WHO web site.2,3,4 International traffic-related measures adopted by States Parties in the Americas in response to the detection of SARS-
CoV-2 variants The table below summarizes international traffic-related measures adopted by States Parties to the IHR in the Region of the Americas in response to the detection of SARS-CoV-2 variants. Measures adopted are consistent with current Temporary
Recommendations,5 issued by the Director-General of WHO in the context of the Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC), determined on 30 January 2020 according to IHR provisions.
