What is Apprenticeship?

• Time-tested training system.• Structured on-the-job training.• Supervision by qualified mentors.• Combines related technical instruction.• Progressive pay scale.• Flexible and industry driven.• Over 938 apprenticeable occupations.

Registered Apprenticeship Minimum Requirements

Customarily learned on-the-job.

Clearly identified and commonly recognized in industry.

Involves manual, mechanical or technical skills and knowledge (min. of 2000 hours OJT).

Requires related instruction to supplement OJT.

BASIC CONCEPT• An apprentice can be anyone looking to enter into an occupation.

• They apply to a local apprenticeship program.

•They work on the job with a qualified experienced worker.

•In addition to working, they attend classes.

•When they finish the apprenticeship, they receive a Certificate of Completion.
