Handling Capacity of Incoming PassengersThe handling capacity at the Regina International Airport of incoming flights is 7,500 passengers deplaned in a 10 hour period.

Handling Capacity of Outgoing PassengersOutgoing flights can be deplaned at a rate of 5,000 passengers in a 10 hour period (given current infrastructure).

The primary airport serving the Greater Regina Area is the Regina International Airport (YQR) which is conveniently located less than 10 minutes from Evraz Place and downtown. The Regina International Airport services over 1.2 million passengers per year and offers more than 120 daily flights throughout North America.

The airport is situated in the west side of the city on approximately 1,500 acres of land. The terminal itself is small enough to be convenient, yet has undergone extensive improvements and upgrades to ensure it offers its passengers and visitors an array of services and amenities.

The airport features two runways; its main runway is 7,900 feet in length and accommodates wide bodied aircraft, and its secondary runway is 6,200 feet in length and is used to accommodate smaller aircrafts.

WASCANA CENTRE: HOST VENUE Situated in the heart of Regina, Wascana Centre is a 930 Hectare urban park and a centre of sport, recreation and nature in the community. The centre is managed by the Provincial Capital Commission, who provides stewardship to the land along with enhanced visitor experiences and educational programing.

The Canada Games Athletic Complex at Douglas Park will be the Event Site for the 2020 Canadian Masters Athletics National Championships and has the capacity to hold all required events.

COMPETITION SITE: DOUGLAS PARK IN WASCANA CENTREThe Canada Games Athletic Complex includes venues for all

track and field events, ample parking, crowd control, fencing,

officials’ room, administration centre, and washrooms and

shower rooms for both men and women.

The facility accommodates outdoor athletics activities for the

University of Regina, Regina High School Athletic Association,

Regina elementary school meets and local athletics clubs.

Additional amenities include spectator seating for 2,100

people, sound system, washrooms and change rooms.

Excel Athletika is pleased to be the host club and welcome the 2020 Canadian Masters Athletic National Championships to Regina! To provide the best experience possible, it is being proposed that the 2020 Canadian Masters Athletic National Championships is combined with U12, U14 and U16 Provincial Championships. This allows Excel Athletika to fully leverage their strong and dedicated volunteer base.

In addition to hosting the Master National Championship in 2013, Excel has deep experience in running multi-age group meets including the Western Canada Tri Province meet on two occasions which includes best U18 and U16 aged athletes from Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Alberta in the sport of Track and Field.

In addition to running the meet, Excel Athletika with fulfill the following event requirements:

HOST COMMITTEE The Host Committee is fortunate to have many dedicated volunteers that have stepped forward to commit themselves to hosting the 2020 Canadian Masters Athletics Championships. This committee is made up of individuals that are familiar and committed to the sport in Regina and look forward to providing an outstanding athlete experience.

Group tour at the Saskatchewan Sport Hall of Fame

The Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame was established to honour outstanding Saskatchewan athletes, championship teams and sport builders as well as preserve the history of Saskatchewan sport. Guided group tours can be arranged for more detailed information.

Mosaic Stadium Tour at Evraz Place

Have you ever wondered what Mosaic Stadium looks like from the field? Experience a behind-the-scenes peek at some of the inner workings of the Saskatchewan Roughrider’s home stadium while having some of your most burning questions answered. Tours available from May to October on Friday’s and Saturday’s at 1:30 & 2:00 p.m. $10.00 for 12 and up.

Dedicated to a unique athlete experience, the Host Committee will look for ways to create lasting memories for the athletes.
