Being a good committee chairBeing a Good Committee Chair- a Committee Chair is responsible for keeping all of the committee’s many working parts in motion. Here are a few suggestions:Conducting a Productive Meeting

Consider using a Timed Agenda Stay FocusedRealize when a discussion becomes unproductive, and table the matter for another time or indefinitely.Insure every member has a voice and give careful consideration and care to their suggestions.Recognize a committee’s member need for a short or long term time out from the committee and encourage it.Always say please and Thank You

Make the committee meetings interestingKeep your members engaged-(Have Regular meetings or email updates).Invite Special guest speakersFeed your committee membersProvide - Little treats…have vendors donate giveaways for your committee members or prepare homemade giveaways.

Committee’s Directives-outline the committee’s purpose and limits. Directives are sanctioned by the Board of Directors and can change from year to year. If your committee’s directives have changed since its original sanction, the chair should insure an updated list of directives is submitted for approval.
