It gives me an immense pleasure to invite you to the South Zone Inter –

University Kabaddi (Women) Tournament for the year 2016 – 17 scheduled to be

held from 14th to 17th December 2016 at Bharathiar University, Coimbatore,

Tamilnadu. Please, find enclosed herewith the instructions and fixtures for the

tournament.

Instructions for Team Managers 1. Tournament Dates and Venue:

14th to 17t h December 2016, Bharathiar University Indoor Stadium,

Coimbatore – 46, Tamilnadu

2. Arrival:

At Coimbatore Railway Station and Bus stand. Bharathiar University is located

at a distance of 10 Km towards Maruthamalai .

3. Local Transport:

City Bus, Auto Rickshaw and Call taxies are available at Coimbatore Railway

Station and Bus stand. Bus fare is around Rs 18. Expenses on account of local

transport will have to bear by the concerned participating team.

Bharathiar University Bus Route Nos:

From Railway station to Bharathiar University - 1C Series till Vadavalli. Then

Vadavalli to Maruthamalai.

From Bus Stand (Gandhipuram) to Bharathiar University - All Maruthamalai

Buses (70 & 1 D Series)

4. Reception

The Counter will function at Coimbatore Railway Station From 13th

December 2016. Managers are requested to contact at the reception counter

on arrival. 5. Meeting:

1. A meeting of the Managers will be held at Academic Staff College Seminar

hall, Bharathiar University campus, Coimbatore at 5 pm on 13th December

2016.

2. Managers are requested to produce the following documents to the

competent authorities at the venue immediately on arrival at the campus

at the reception booth.

i. Eligibility Performa in quadruplicate.

ii. Recent Identity cards, +2 mark Statement, Diploma/Degree

Provisional Certificates (as the case may be) of the players duly

signed by player and attested by the Director o Physical Education

of the concerned Universities.

iii. University flags for the march fast which is compulsory for all the

teams.

6. Matches will be conducted on mat (synthetic) at indoor stadium- shoes

are compulsory.

7. A sum of Rs 1000/- (Thousand only) will be collected for each match towards

officiating charges in accordance with AIU guidelines. Official receipt will be

issued.

8. Matches will be conducted in accordance with rules of The Amateur Kabaddi

Federation of India as adapted by AIU, Delhi .

9. The Tournament Committee is empowered to change the date, venue and

time of the matches, if necessary.

10. The Teams are requested to strictly follow the match schedule.

11.The team should report for their match at least half an hour before the

commencement of the match.

12. Fixtures can also be downloaded from University website. www.b-u.ac.in

13. Withdrawal, if any should be communicated at the earliest.

14. Lodging:

1. Unfurnished accommodation for only out station University players and

Managers will be provided in the Bharathiar University.

2. Teams should bring their own beddings, mosquitoes net, locks and keys.

3. Blanket and mat will be provided by payment if required

4. Teams should make their own arrangements for boarding.

5. Many good Vegetarian and Non – vegetarian Hotels are available nearby

venue.

6. A caution deposit of Rs 1000/- (Thousand only) will be collected from

each team at the reception. The deposit will be refunded when the team

vacates the rooms.

7. Team should vacate their rooms within 24 hours of their last match.

8. Entrants are requested to give information about their date and time of

arrival well in advance.

9. Visitors – other than the players shall not be accommodated in the

campus.

10. It will not be possible for the organizers to arrange for the return

reservations for the participating teams, Managers should arrange for

them.

15. Opening ceremony:

All the teams should participate in the march past with their University flag

on the inaugural day on 14th December 2016 at 7.00am in Bharathiar

University Outdoor Stadium.

16. Sight Seeing: 1.Lord Murugan temple, Maruthamalai, 2 km from the venue and

Palani, 110km from the venue.

2.Lord Siva Temple, Perur 10 km from the venue.

3.Isha Yoga centre, and Kovai Kuttralam 30 km from the venue

4.Theme park “Black Thunder” is 40 km from the venue. Maharaja and

Kovai Kondattam is 20km.

5.South Indian famous, “Queen of Hills” Ooty 80 km distance from venue.

6.Valparai & Top Slip, 100 km from the venue.

7.Thirumoorthy Hills, 100 km from the venue.
