1995 Online Revolution In the early 1990s, REED became the first high street recruitment agency in the UK to have a presence on the web. reed.co.uk has become one of Europe’s biggest job boards, being used by 85% of the UK’s top 100 recruitment agencies.
1996 Reed Learning Launched in 1996, Reed Learning has become a leading business training provider. It was the first provider to launch Green Learning courses, which are the exclusive training partner to Google and winner of several national training awards.
2007 Just Keep Giving theBigGive.org.uk is a non-profit, charitable website which enables donors to find and support charity projects in their field of interest. The Big Give was founded in October 2007 by Sir Alec Reed CBE. Since its launch, The Big Give has raised over £50 million.
2008 REED Goes Global reedglobal.com went live in October 2008 to provide a website for the UK & Global REED offices. Since then it has grown to be a hub for HR & Recruitment news, industry & insight, and a place for candidates & clients alike to develop their teams and careers.
Humble Beginnings The first REED branch opened on Kingsley Rd, Hounslow, West London on 7th May 1960. In the early 1960s, REED pioneered specialist recruitment services, a move which fundamentally changed the UK recruitment market.1960
1988 Building the Foundation The charity arm of the REED Group, The Reed Foundation, acquired 18% of the REED companies and, in the following year, founded both Ethiopiaid and Womankind Worldwide.
2016 Present Day REED is the one of the leading independent recruitment companies globally and resources for more than 10,000 clients from 450 business units across 150 locations worldwide.
