The sooner you begin, the sooner you can start a new job

OUR EXPERIENCE is that one should strike while the iron is hot. So the best thing is that your job search process starts as soon as pos-sible - during the redundancy notice period. The longer you are out of work the harder it is to get a new job. Therefore, usually, our ad-visors recommend that you actively start now, working to resolve your situation.

You and your employer apply togetherTo get TRR’s advice, support and guidance and AGE, our supplementary income protec-tion, then both you and your employer must submit applications to us. The application form is digital and you’ll find it on our website www.trr.se. On your personal or the company’s initi-ative, send your application in as soon as you know you will have to leave your employment.

The application certifies the reason for you lea-ving your company is due to redundancy. The application is also grounds for the calculation of your AGE benefit and whether you are eli-gible for it during a period of unemployment.

After ProtectionIf you end up being dismissed again due to redundancy at your new workplace, we have so called After Protection. That means you have the opportunity to reconnect with your TRR advisor.

After protection is valid for five years from the last date of employment. The condition is that any new termination is due to redundancy. Note that AGE protection is limited to two years.

If you become a Managing Director or self-employed, other rules apply, see our website www.trr.se where you can also read in more detail about what applies for continued protection.

If you get a new job, but, within 12 months feel compelled to resign for any reason from the new employment, you are entitled to return to TRR and your advisor. Keep in mind that we include your notice period in that 12-month period.

”There are lots of things to do, not just what you’ve been doing for the last 30 years. ”Agnetha Söderblad, former switchboard operator, Stockholm. Today, she drives trains!

Our way works

TRR WORKS WITH what is called transition support. It means that we help businesses and above all their employees with advice, support and guidance in connection with reorganiza-tions and redundancy. The foundation of our business is based on an agreement between PTK and the Confederation of Swedish Enter-prise.

Since we started in 1974 we have helped around 500,000 people, turning a seemingly difficult situation into something more positive. We call it creating a force for change. By that we mean primarily our ability to help each individual to restart his or her professional ca-reers. And as you can see from the following, our optimism is justified:

• Approximately 500,000 people have received our support to move forward in their careers since TRR started in 1974.• 9 out of 10 of the most active job seekers we support find new jobs.• 9 out of 10 of those we serve proceed to an equivalent or better job.• 6-7 months is the average time to get a new job.

You get a personal advisorOur method takes into account your specific individual needs for transition support. May-be you’ve never charted your network, had to apply for a job, answered a job advert or written a CV? If you are thinking of starting your own business, you can, together with your advisor, discuss the conditions needed for success. The same applies if you need to supplement your skills with training courses.

TRR OnlineTRR Online is a website for anyone covered by our transition support. Here we provide tools and information, which together with the support from your advisor, facilitates the path towards a new job. TRR Online is a password-protected website where you get an account.

All the advice you need is already paid forThe companies that are affiliated to TRR have already paid for the services you can benefit from.

Conditions for getting redundancy supportTo get redundancy support, you should have been dismissed due to redundancy, or be at risk of becoming laid off for this reason.

Redundancy support can also be provided if you stopped your employment without being terminated, if it is clear that you stopped due to your employer’s advice and the lack of work.

A prerequisite for transition support is that you have been permanently employed and have worked at least 16 hours per week for one year at the company.

How TRR works

THE FOUNDATION of the TRR method is called support and challenge. We will meet you with respect and sensitivity, as we under-stand your situation. During the first contact, we can, based on our many years of experien-ce, deal effectively with the issues you need to focus on straight away. Your time with TRR is divided into two phases. Initially the focus is on consulting and knowledge transfer, in order to become proficient in searching for work. Once you know how to effectively apply for a job, our cooperation moves onto the second phase and a more coaching-based approach. Your advisor’s job then is to support and challenge you to maintain motivation and perseverance in the process. It is important that you have the energy to keep going until you reach your goal.

To become an effective job seeker there are certain things you need to do. In our job school, we ensure that you have the right skills. We have divided the information into the fol-lowing four areas:

Current situationYou must have a systematic approach to look for a new job.• What can TRR offer and what you can ex-pect from your time at TRR?• What are your needs and what direction should you go in?• How do you start writing applications?• How do you decide when to act and what activities to do during the period before you find your new job?

CompetenceYou’ll gain insight into what skills you have that can lead to new work.• What can you do? Take inventory of your skills and experience that can lead to a new job.• Who are you? Increase your self-awareness by making sure you know your qualities and strengths.• What do you want? Be aware of what your values and motivations are and how they affect what you want to work with.• What makes you unique? Clarify what your competitive advantage is when you are seeking work.

Job marketYou should get a clear vision and understan-ding of the market for jobs you want.• What are your goals and what do you want to work with?• What part of the labour market can you define as your own?• What does your future job market look like?

MarketingYou’ll gain a good understanding of how to effectively look for work.• What channels are there that can lead to new jobs?• Who is in your personal network and how it can be developed to lead to a new job?• How to write good CVs and cover letters?• How do you present your needs in different situations when applying for a job?

Money is important - you can get income protection

ALTHOUGH MANY get a new job before their employment ends, there can sometimes be a gap when switching from one job to another. Then it can be comforting to know about our supplemental income protection, AGE.

Conditions for getting AGE To get AGE you must have been made redundant. The basic requirements to get AGE are that you:• Have a monthly salary of at least 27,100 SEK.• Are 40 years of age on the last day of employment.• Have worked at least five years at compa-nies that are connected to TRR and have been made redundant.• Are a jobseeker and registered with the Employment Service.

How much AGE?AGE may reimburse you up to about 70 per cent of your previous salary including the compensation paid by the unemployment in-surance. Your AGE is based on the salary you have had in the job you were made redundant from. For part-time unemployment, you need to have lost at least 20 per cent of your working time to get AGE. The compensation period is different for different age groups.

ExemptionsThere are some exemptions and special AGE rules, which are extensive, so please read more on www.trr.se, in our AGE information brochure or contact your advisor.
