At the Greenville Police Foundation, we are striving to create a safe city that is good for business, for our community and for our future. Our Foundation seeks to find ways to support and influence police department success, as police services are critical to community safety, quality of life and economic success. We fully support the Greenville Police Department’s mission of “collaborating with our community to prevent crime, promote safety and enhance quality of life for our residents, workers and visitors,” and their core goals listed below.

Develop or adapt equipment, technologies and facilities to
enhance organizational efficiency and effectiveness.

Recruit and develop a professional, diverse and motivated
workforce to enhance organizational performance and retention.
Ken Miller joined the Greenville Police Department as Chief of Police in September 2014. He has focused on understanding, developing and enhancing police-community relationships in Greenville, and on improving functional performance of the department.
Through his efforts to improve operations, community outreach, collaborative problem solving and accountability, Miller has revamped several aspects of the department. He has aided in the development of: the department’s mission, vision and values, and disciplinary and policy management processes. Additionally, he has restructured operations to improve community focus and responsiveness, and enhanced training to equip employees with the capabilities to manage delicate relationships, situations and problems.

VISION & MISSION
The Greenville Police Foundation is a non-profit entity that works to support the needs of our police department’s budget when funding falls short. Our Police Foundation strives to:
Expansion of DNA collection and analysis capabilities to solve and suppress violent and property crimes
Electric motorcycles to quietly/efficiently patrol the Swamp Rabbit Trail and parks
GREAT – Gang Resistance Education And Training for at-risk youth
Police/Youth athletics, such as Cops on the Court, in at-risk communities
Enhanced leadership development programs for command and supervisory personnel
College internship program support

Promote excellence in local police departments by providing resources not otherwise available from traditional sources
Provide grants to purchase equipment, provide specialized training, encourage professional development, recognize employee valor, promote wellness, engage consultants, and perform independent studies and program evaluation
Be powerful allies of police departments and their programs through advocacy efforts of members of their board of directors
Support programs, initiatives and projects that are strategically focused to complement the department’s policing strategies
Provide private sector support that contributes to the development of an innovative, technologically-advanced police force that engages with the community
Serve as a conduit for the business and private sectors to support the Police Department through monetary aid, services, and goods
