Challenge• The Washington Redskins were looking to upgrade their
previous air-supported dome to a newer model with more features.
• Arizon was tasked to design, manufacturer, and install the Washington Redskins 100,800 square foot practice facility in time for the Redskins mandatory 3-day mini-camp in June.
Solution• Arizon’s engineering and design team met daily with the
manufacturing team and worked overtime in order to construct the dome in the Redskin’s desired timeline. The install team began work on-site in Ashburn, VA in May.
• Translucent fabric reduced the need for artificial day-time lighting and along with triple wall insulation this helps the Redskins keep operational cost down.
• Technology in the dome included a new LED lighting system, a surround sound mounted speaker system, and mounted video cameras.
• Along with the technology being mounted to the walls/ ceiling of the air-supported building the Redskins also had goal post suspended allowing for more floor space.
Result• Arizon completed the project on time and delivered a new
state-of-the-art practice facility for the Washington Redskins.• The Redskins Ownership and Executive team toured the
facility prior to the players entering the fields and were very impressed.
• Soon after the install, the Redskins held a photoshoot inside the dome, since it was a good spot with the natural, but not harsh lighting because of the translucent fabric.
