Passo dopo passo sarà come sfogliare pagine.
Buon cammino ragazzi!
Bergamo and the Reda Rewoolution Orobie Ultra-Trail® welcome and thank you for having undertaken this challenge that will let you discover the province of Bergamo through its most hidden, unusual and fascinating corners. If this society of ours has deleted the greater part of what is slow and deep, it hasn’t yet been able to graze the sense and dimension of “walking”, of moving with one’s own legs, of being alone with one’s own strength and thoughts.
Your walking and running along the trails of the Orobie Ultra-Trail® or Gran Trail Orobie, will become a way to read everything within and outside of you.
Step after step it will be like paging through a book and…
You will read the trees, the sense of the flowers and the value of the roots. You will read your sore legs, the fear of not making it, a strength never felt before. You will read the flight of butterflies, the singing birds, the whistling marmots. You will read the depth of the lakes, the color of the sky, the generosity of the streams. You will read the strength of the bricks that protect us, of the roads that often lead to nowhere, of the street lights that hide the stars. You will read the respect of the volunteers at the refreshment areas, the incomprehension of those who don’t understand all this effort, the gratitude of the organizers.
And that’s why, once you reach the Upper Town, you will feel different: you will embody an entire world, which is impossible to explain with words. All it will take will be to look you in the eyes!
Have a good journey folks!

Ercole Botto PoalaAmministratore Delegato Successori Reda Spa

Reda Rewoolution is alongside OUT for the great empathy that we felt ever since the very first meeting, tracking at first on maps and then on trails, this race in the Orobie Mountains. It’s the constant challenge, the spirit of sacrifice, the effort and respect for nature that make this ultra trail race close to our ideals and our brand philosophy. Our motivation, which we hope is shared with many people, if not with everyone, is the input to act always with intensity, running towards the top with determination to cross the finish line with ourselves and , in this case, with all of Bergamo.
Paolo PicchielloTitolare e Fondatore Spiagames
It’s since 1999, year in which our adventure in the outdoor world began, that Tomaso Luzzana and I organize events, at first all over Italy and now in the whole of Europe and we do it for prestigious, national and international brands.During all these years we have worked hard in promoting our formats far from Bergamo, bringing great value to other lands.
About two years ago, we realized that the moment had come to get back to basics, in our beloved land where everything started, organizing a great event. An international event that could represent the maturity and expertise reached, but that at the same time belonged to Bergamo, to its valleys and to the Orobie.A demanding yet exciting adventure that in its first edition is proud to have participants from 27 nations, 1000 registered athletes and 700 volunteers.
In light of all of this, we wish the event to be a success and most of all that people from Bergamo embrace it with enthusiasm also as an opportunity to relaunch the territory. The goal for the next two years is to be part of the UTWT (ULTRA TRAIL WORLD TOUR), the Ultra Trail world league. That would display Bergamo and the Orobie in the world, generating in the future a high profile tourism (mountain lovers) just like in all those places that host these kind of events.

Sports and Territory are the two keywords in my job for the Region of Lombardy and they’re two terms that events like this can put together into a perfect bond: the dedication and effort of the athletes, their passion and their enthusiasm on one side; on the other side, the territory, the love for the mountains of Bergamo, the identity and culture of our Orobie Alps. So which better opportunity for the first edition if not the months of Expo that along with the Reda Rewoolution Orobie Ultra-Trail represent the jewel in the crown for Lombardy, two international events that are able to bring the region to the attention of the whole world thanks to the support of the organizers and athletes, the true protagonists of these three days in one of Lombardy’s paradises.

OUT: 140 kMOF PURE BEAUTYThat’s how our race was defined by Orobie, one of the land’s most important magazines. The article written in July 2014 for the Edition Zero of the Reda Rewoolution Orobie Ultra Trail, which we are now quoting, already described the magic that the trail would convey to every athlete or simple spectator.
The story begins with a story, a goal and a huge will to give back to the territory what for many years it gave us spontaneously. The Orobie Ultra Trail is in fact not just a race, but an actual journey in the heart of the Orobie, arduous and fascinating, a journey that will end in another heart, the one of the Upper Town – Piazza Vecchia.
The Edition Zero was the first step for the making of this great project. Exactly one year before the official start of OUT, some of the national and international top level athletes ran along the trails of the Orobie, officially tracing where the athletes are now passing. This is the story of our great dream.Have a good journey!
“Running till you’re out of breath and feel the sweat running down your forehead and you start gasping for air, thighs tightening up almost as spasms and your calf muscles hurting, especially in the most arduous parts, where the ascent becomes too steep and you start walking. Running for many, actually many more kilometers, knowing that the goal is still far and the only limit is the horizon, made of mountains and pre-alpine lakes. Everyone running with their own legs but everyone running regardless: little “atom ants” gathering at the starting point to then spread out along the way. Some of the participants, knowing that anyway they won’t be the first to cross the finish line, wait and support each other. Often victory, for who runs an ultra-trail race, is completing it within the maximum time: it’s like a bet with one’s own body and mind, even before it being with the other athletes. Running with daylight and in the dark, seeing your own shadow become longer, as the sun goes down.
This will be the setting for those who want to follow, from July 31st to August 2nd , the athletes that will take part in the first edition of the Reda Rewoolution Orobie Ultra Trail, the “first ultra-trail in the world that starts in the heart of the Alps and ends in a beautiful medieval town”, sponsored by the brand of technical sport clothing Reda Rewoolution. Starting from the town of Clusone in Val Seriana and arriving in Bergamo’s Upper Town. Altogether 140 kilometers and a 9500 elevation gain. A great challenge, but also a great show with two exceptional guests: the alpinist Simone Moro and the actor Giovanni Storti.
Organizing a mountain race of over 100 kilometers is not easy. In 2014 we followed in person the Edition Zero, that was the trial session, intentionally spread over three days, to test the route and collect feedback regarding safety, feasibility, beauty and technical features. Barely 20 people, led by Marco Zanchi from Bergamo, arrived in Clusone and, with their eye-catching outfits and micro-backpacks on their shoulders, they gathered in the historical Piazza dell’Orologio (“Clock Square”), sure enough attracting the looks of the old retired lady on her way to the market or the mom that walks her son to school. One could imagine them serious, nervous, instead they had a big smile on their face, that smile that tells all about what you’re
about to confront. They couldn’t wait and were eager to start the run as the photographers were asking them to get together for a few shots.
Three, two, one, go! In the first part, from the square to the Blum Church ( CAI trail 317), passing under the Bares peak up to the Scagnello Pass, it’s all ups and downs. Passing by the Olmo cabin and going into Valzurio, along the west face of the Presolana. A set of green pastures, sheep and shepherds are, in the distance, dominated by the north edge of this mountain and that’s why it’s called the “Queen of the Orobie”. from here on we are on the trail of the Orobie: after having passed the Petto peak and the Manina Pass you go down to the Curò cabin and along the panoramic route down to the town of Valbondione. The skyrunners run as fast as lightning , despite some hours of fatigue in their legs. In the background, stunning and unique as in a painting, you can see the Serio waterfalls and the Pinnacolo of Maslana.
The second part, from fiumenero until Zambla (passing by the Brunone cabin, the frattini shelter, the Calvi cabin, Laghi Gemelli, Alpe Corte and Capanna 2000) partially runs along the Sentiero dei fiori (“flower Trail”). Once you reach the Zambla Pass, you cross the Alben mountain, reaching the last part of the race, that goes from Selvino down to Piazza Vecchia, in the heart of the antique town on the hills. This last part is not technically demanding but, having already 100km on your legs, it may seem endless for some. However, who has experience in running knows that, once you run out of energy, it’s all a matter of “mind”.
“The trail – as the outstanding runner Pablo Criado said as he arrived in Bergamo – is not simple and many sections, uneven or steep, are hard to run. Altogether however, it’s a charming ultra-trail, with unexpected, wild and breathtaking landscapes. It requires a lot of resistance, hard training and determination. It’s certainly not less demanding than the one of the Mont Blanc”. An important statement, that is reassuring for the future of this 100% made in Bergamo competition, conceived and coordinated by Spiagames Outdoor Agency.
Passing by Monte di Nese and Maresana the runners will arrive on the San Vigilio hill to then make an entrance in Cittadella and Piazza Vecchia, probably exhausted by the fatigue and yet satisfied, with their heart full of emotions and their mind full of images of our mountains that they admired, sweated and lived. Some will kneel down and kiss the ground, some will hug their relatives, friends and race companions. It won’t matter much who comes in first or last. What will really matter will be the experience and the will, after a well-deserved rest, to go running again”.
