Explanation of the Foot Print

- This foot print is a framework for the messages in the membership recruitment towards the students. It clarifies the different aspects of AIESEC and gives us a common understanding of what AIESEC meansfor us, and what we should communicate to the students . VISION: The ”Why” – explains for which purpose AIESEC existsVALUES: Gives the framework of how AIESEC operates internallyTHE CORE (attributes): The ”What and How” -explains what AIESEC is, what is the core of theorganizationTHE BENEFITS: Explains which benefits the students gain by joining AIESECTHE PROMISE: Defines the end ”goal” that we promise to our members –> through taking theopportunities that the organization offers and thereby gaining the benefits, they can expect to fulfill thepromise.

The main message, and the different messages we convey to the students should be built around: 1. The Promise2. The Benefits3. The CoreAt the same time, we need to make sure that the messages are always somewhat connected to The Vision and The Values (in order to make sure that the messages are not in conflict with what we stand for)

Example of how to present/sell AIESEC1. The Promise (this is what should attract the students and make them curious about us) ”Through working in AIESEC during your study time you will develop personally and professionally in

order for you to stand out in the competition for the job that you would want in the future.” - Argument 1 (benefit) ”In AIESEC you can gain practical team management experience by leading a project” Proof (the core + testimonials/examples) : ”In our Local Committe you are able to join 3 different projects: project X, project Y, project Z. By doingthis you have the chance to develop (competency, skill) through working with (responsibilities, tasks)””A story about a successfull alumnus” - Argument 2 (benefit) Proof (the core + testimonials/examples) - Argument 3 (benefit) Proof (the core + testimonials/examples)

It can also be useful to think about what aspects of the organizations the students can be sceptical about, and define potential counter argumentsExample: ”how could I work in AIESEC , work for money and pass my exams at the same time?” Answer: ”it is exactly that kind of personal qualities you are able to develop in AIESEC: through workinghard with something you find interesting, you learn how to prioritize and balance many things at the same time.
