CANCELLATION OF MEMBERSHIPS After fulfilling a commitment of one year, you can cancel monthly pre-authorized payments if you provide written notice within 30 days. (1 month memberships cannot be canceled) MEMBERSHIP TERMINATION Members found abusing the facility or breaking the code of conduct will have their membership terminated. The Municipality of Kincardine reserves the right to terminate memberships without refunds for time lost.HOLD POLICY Members may request a membership hold once per year for a maximum of 5 months. 30 days notice is required to hold your monthly pre-authorized payment. Holds will not be processed retroactively.

CIRCUIT TRAINING A full-body cardio and muscle conditioning workout, set to great up beat music! A cardio workout you’ll be feeling for days! Suitable for all ages and skill levels!

AEROBIC BOOTCAMP A full-body cardio and muscle conditioning workout, set to great up beat music! A cardio workout you’ll be feeling for days! Suitable for all ages and skill levels!

FUNCTIONAL FITNESS Exercise designed to incorporate the use of small stabilizer muscle groups, to prevent and to assist in recovery of muscle imbalance. Includes a strong cardio component with more focus on joint stability, more core work and some use of stability ball and Thera bands.

BOOTCAMP A variety of full body weight training and interval training. This class will use fitness concepts from P90X and Insanity to give you an overall body workout like no other!

CIRCUIT AND STEP FITNESS Step Fitness is an energizing full body workout focusing on basic stepping, just like walking up and down stairs, while moving to an intoxicating rhythm. Step caters to all fitness levels and you can increase or decrease the intensity of theworkout by raising or lowering the height of your step. This class focused on cardio and muscles conditioning using step.

PILATESBasic traditional mat Pilates class, incorporating breathing, concentration, control, flow and relaxation. Build your core strength through simple techniques for a stronger, leaner and healthier body.

STRENGTH TRAININGCardio is great but make sure to round out your exercise routine with strength training! Work your muscle groups with different sized weights and exercises to boost your routine and see overall improvements in your health!

STRETCH & FLOWBy incorporating the principles of yoga, you’re guided through the main girdles of your body: the hips and shoulders. You will find more length, range, and freedom of movement to ensure you leave feeling positive.

ZUMBAJoin us for a Latin dance party! The instructor uses a variety of dance moves to give participants a fun aerobic workout set to thumping beats to keep you pumping!

POOL ADMISSION POLICY Children under the age of 11 must be accompanied by a person over the age of 16. Children 5-11 must complete the facility swim test to swim without a lifejacket. The facility swim test consists of a 30m swim where the swimmer must maintain a horizontal position on their front and submerge their face. Children under five and those who are unable to complete the facility swim test must be accompanied by someone over the age of 16 and remain within arms reach at all times in the water.

• SWIMMER 2 (SWIM KIDS 2 & 3) 6-12 yearsAdvanced beginners jump into deeper water, and become comfortable falling sidways into the water wearing a personal floatation device. Swimmers support themselves at the surface without an aid, recover an object in chest-deep water. Fitness swim is 10-15m. (Cost $76.00)

• SWIMMER 1 (SWIM KIDS 1) 6-12 yearsBeginners become comfortable jumping into the water with and without apersonal flotation device. They open their eyes, exhale and hold their breath underwater. They work on floats, glides and kicking on front and back. (Cost:$76.00)

• SWIMMER 3(SWIM KIDS 4) 6-12 yearsSwimmers develop front and back crawl strokes, and explore whip kick in a vertical position. Swimmers tread water for up to 30 sec. and learn to transition from front to back flutter kick. Fitness swim is 20-25m. (Cost $76.00)

• SWIMMER 4 (SWIM KIDS 5) 6-12 yearsSwimmers work towards stride dives and standing dives into deep water. They improve front crawl, back crawl and whip kick. Swimmers are introduced to a 3m underwater swim. Fitness swim is 50m. (Cost: $76.00)

• SWIMMER 5 (SWIM KIDS 6) 6-12 yearsJunior swimmers shallow dive into deep water and perform in-water back somersaults. They achieve the Canadian Swim to Survive Standard: roll into deep water, tread 1 minute and swim 50m. Swimmers continue to develop front and back crawl while breaststroke skills are introducted. Fitness swim is 100m. (Cost $92.00)

• SWIMMER 6 (SWIM KIDS 7) 8-12 yearsIntermediate swimmers increase efficiency in front crawl, back crawl, and work to develop breaststroke skills. They are introduced to stride entries, scissor kick and vertical dolphin kick. They also develop strength and power by performing front and back crawl sprints. Fitness swim is 150m. (Cost $92.00)

• SWIMMER 7 (SWIM KIDS 8) 8-12 yearsIntermediate swimmers master dolphin kick, diving of blocks and eggbeater. They are introduced to sculling and contnue to maximize efficiency in front crawl and breaststroke. Fitness swim is 300m. (Cost $92.00)

• SWIMMER 8 (SWIM KIDS 9) 8-12 yearsSwimmers rise to the challenge of advanced aquatic skills including head and foot first surface dives and a 25m obstacle swim. First aid focuses on assessment of conscious victims, contacting EMS and treatment for bleeding. They swim lengths of front crawl, back crawl and breaststroke. Fitness is 350m. (Cost $92.00)

• SWIMMER 9 (SWIM KIDS 10) 8-12 yearsSwimmers continue stroke development with 75m swims of front crawl, back crawl and breast stroke. Lifesaving skills include a rescue with a buoyant aid and a timed object support. First aid focuses on assessment of unconscious victims, treatment of victims in shock and obstructed airway procedures. Fitness swim is 500m. (Cost $92.00)

• SWIMMER 10 8-12 yearsSwimmers develop each stroke over 100m. They also learn lifesaving skills such as entries with aids, removals of unconscious victims. First aid focuses on treatment of victims with bone and joint injuries, and respiratory emergencies. Swimming drills develop a strong lifesaving foundation. Fitness swim is 600m. (Cost $92.00)

DROP-IN ADULT UNDER WATER HOCKEY Underwater hockey is exactly what it sounds like. Wearing fins, mask, and a snorkel, the object of the game is to score goals using a stick and puck. ADVANCED TRAINING & COURSES

Through classroom learning and in-water practice, the Assistant Instructor Course prepares candidates to help instructors with swimming and lifesaving skills. Candidates are introduced to key principles of learning and teaching while they master basic progressions. The roles and responsibilities of instructors and their assistants including the principles of healthy child development are emphasized. Candidates must complete 18 apprenticeship hours during the course. PREREQUISITE: 14 years old, Bronze Cross

The Lifesaving Society Learn to Swim Instructors course prepares assistant instructors to teach the Learn to Swim Program. Candidates will be come certified swim instructors at the end of the course work. Candidates will explore the Parent and Tot, Preschool and Swimmer program through various modules. Modules include lesson planning, teaching approaches, roles and responsibilities, peer teaching practicums and evaluation. PREREQUISITE: Lifesaving Society Assistant Instructors, 16 years old, Bronze Cross

The Bronze Medallion course develops physical fitness, decision-making and judgment skills for water rescue. Rescuers learn tows and carries, and defense methods and releases in preparation for challenging rescues of increased risk. PREREQUISITE: 13 Years Old OR Bronze Star

The Bronze Cross course teaches the difference between lifesaving and lifeguarding. It includes the principles of emergency procedures, teamwork andthe use of special equipment. An introduction to safe supervision in aquatic facilities. PREREQUISITE: 14 Years Old, Bronze Medallion and Emergency First Aid

The Bronze Star course is an excellent preparation for success in Bronze Medallion. Participants work on problem solving, decision making skills and develop water smart confidence. They learn CPR and the lifesaving skills needed to be their own lifesaver.PREREQUISITE: 11 Years Old. Bronze Star is an optional course geared for swimmers who have completed all other swimming levels but are not yet old enough to take Bronze Medallion.

The National Lifeguard course is a nationally recognized lifeguard training program. The course is 40 hours in length and includes scanning techniques,physical principles, victim management, lifeguard and the law, an introduction to filtration systems and pool chemicals. In order to complete the course, candidates must perform a timed swim (400m in 10 minutes), a 50m sprint in 60 seconds, 15m underwater swim, retrieve a 20lb brick from the bottom of the pool in 40 seconds and recover a submerged victim with a 25m approach and tow in 90seconds. 100% attendance is mandatory to complete the course. PREREQUISITE: 16 years old, Bronze Cross, Standard First Aid and CPR C.

If cancellations of trip weeks occur after the 14 days, participants will be charged the trip fee for the canceled week.

REFUNDSRefunds take between 2-4 weeks to process and will be received in cheque form via mail. Refunds will NOT be given in the form of cash or debit return. Credit Card payments will be refunded to the same credit card.

Throwing a memorable celebration for your children can be quite a hassle; there’s cake, there are presents, there are guest lists…and then you have to figure out what you’re going to do with all of those kids once they arrive! INDOOR WALKING TRACKThe Davidson Centre operates an indoor walking track facility that is open for use during operating hours. The track is free to use however donations are welcome in the donation box located in the foyer of the track. Our indoor track is perfect for use during the winter months when the snow can make recreational walking quite difficult. Our bright, clean and modern track awaits! 9 Laps = 1 Kilometer.

KINCARDINE AIR CADETS183 TYPHOON SQUADRONROYAL CANADIAN AIR CADETSOpen to all youth between the ages of 12 and

18. Join anytime of the year after their 12th

birthday. No fee to join. Meetings are on Monday

evenings at 6:30pm at the Kincardine Legion. This

youth program is all about learning and instilling

the values of good citizenship, leadership skills,

environmental stewardship, physical fitness and

friendship. We offer opprtunities to grow, the

chance to experience gliding, gain survival skills and

attend summer training camps.

STONEY ISLAND CONSERVATION AREA434 COUNTY RD 23, TIVERTON ONThis 80 acre property on County Road 23 is located

4 kms north of Kincardine Hospital. The trails offer

multiple uses in Spring, Summer and Fall but are

reserved only for skiing and snowshoeing during

the ski season. For safety and insurance (liability)

reasons, no walking or dogs are allowed on the trails

when they are set for skiing.

There are 10 kms of trails available for Nordic skiing

and snowshoeing as soon as we have a snow base.

Volunteers from Kincardine Cross-Country Ski Club

work with Saugeen Valley Conservation Authority

managing the property. The trails are groomed daily

in winter.

The Annual Loppet (not a race but a leisurely tour)

will be held at 2pm on Saturday Jan. 12, 2019

(weather permitting). On Sunday Jan. 20, 2019 there

will be a community snow-shoe walk round the

trails at 2pm.

IN-PERSONBring your completed registration form to the Davidson Centre Recreation Office. Our office hours are 8:30am to 4:30pm Monday to Friday. Outside of Office hours, payment and registration forms can be dropped off in the drop box located just outside the office door.

WAITLISTS If a class is filled before your registration form is received, we offer the option of being placed on a waitlist. Should a space become available in the program you are waitlisted for, you will be contacted. Please ensure you indicate the best phone number to reach you on your registration form.

WEATHER CANCELLATION POLICY If Hwy 21 is closed from Amberley to Port Elgin, our programs are cancelled until OPP reopens the road. Notification will be posted on our Facebook page: Municipality of Kincardine, Parks & Recreation and will be announced on local radio stations.

PROGRAM CANCELLATIONS Kincardine Recreation Department reserves the right to cancel any program that fails to meet minimum registration numbers. Participants will be offered a full refund, or a credit on account to be used on any of our other programs offered.

FEE ASSISTANCE Everyone should have the opportunity to participate in Recreation Programs.

JUMPSTART Jumpstart gives kids a sporting chance. Kids aged 4 to 18 from families in financial need can receive funding to help with registration fees, equipment and/or transportation. Jumpstart knows that physical activity isn’t just about soccer fields, ice rinks, karate mats and baseball diamonds. Physical activity is the key to what we fund. Apply on line at jumpstart.canadiantire.ca or call 1.844.937.7529. Forms are also available at the Davidson Centre Office.

CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS When cancelling a facility rental or program registration you must notify the Davidson Centre in writing. A full refund will be given if cancellation is done 7 days prior to program start date or facility rental date. If the cancellation occurs after the 7 day period, then an administrative fee of 25% of the program cost or facility rental will be applied. Summer Camp registrations see different policies.
