MASSIVE MAFIC FLOW (i*)
Dark green, very fine to fine grained (max. 1mm) equigranular,
coarser sections 152 white feldspar. .Individual flows marked
by 30cm amygdaloidal margins; flows 3-4m thick. Marginal
phases have 12 po as 2 -3mm blebs.
8.10-10.40 1 to 3cm epidote-quartz-calcite, 0.52 po, 0.52
py, sub-parallel to core axis.
PILLOWED MAFIC FLOW Mb)
Dark green, fine grained. Pillow rims are epidote-calcite,
-2cms. Pillow margins are calcite-amygdaloidal , but no po.
22 irregular 1mm calcite veinlets. Upper contact (13.00-13.70)
's brecciated with calcite - probably flow breccia sealed with
calcite - fragments to 5 x 2cms, angular.
16.65-16.75 3cm (true width) 400 core ang-l,e, possible
fault zone, pale green epidote/calcite with flattened chloritic
mafic fragments 1 to 2cm x 1 to 2mm (502) plus 32 po, 12 py.
again parallel to flattening.
This could also be interpillow material, but sulphides are
not normal in interpillows.
18.10-18.34 Calcite vein; margins are angular and "stoped"
by vein; 52 2 x rvnm wall rock fragments, 22 po. Looks like
a dilation vein, no movement. 20" core angle.

26.20-26.80 Flow contact: 4 ZxScm fine hyaloclastite zones
separated by amygdaloidal rounded "pillow-buds". Flows above
and below this unit are amygdaloidal for 10 cms. There is
also a 2cm calcite vein with 12 po. Flow contact at 55".
26.80-56.90 Massive flow, very minor (12) calcite velnlets.
0.52 sulphide blebs scattered through as 13mm rounded blebs

39.10-39.40 2 x 3cm calcite veins brecciating, 300 CA.
MEDIUM-COARSE GRAINED MAFIC FLOW/INTRUSION (la)
Massive, dark green; 702 dark green amphibole as equant 2 x 3mm
grains; 202 white feldspar, as 1mm grains, interstitial to
amphibole grains; feldspar grains pick out a weak folitation
banding at 40* CA, 102 dark green-black pyroxene; 12 diss. po.
Upper contact is gradational against overlying massive flow.
Lower contact shows gradual grain size reduction over 30cm.

Contractor: Midwest Drilling, Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Core is being stored on the property.
No significant quartz veining intersected. The zones of
strong calcite alteration could be the up-dip equivalents of
the "calcite-alteration-dacite-quartz vein" zones intersected
in drill holes to the east. This suggests these zones may
plunge below the intersection level in DDH KB-64.

HYALOCLASTITE (le)
Large rounded fragments are medium green, very hard, and
porphyritic with 2X white feldspar laths 2mm x 1mm and also
glassy needle-like crystals to 2mm x O.lmm, similar to those
in "dacite". These are hard and were called quartz in dacite.
These clasts are up to 20cm. They also have soft, black spots,
generally rounded, possibly amygdules.
Matrix is made up of sharply angular pale green "honeycomb
textured" glass fragments.
Texturally this is like the typical mafic hyaloclastite.
Compos i tionally the large clasts may be "dacite" rather than
mafic.

DESCRIPTION
MAFIC MASSIVE FLOW (la)
Dark green, fine to medium grained, generally TO-15% feldspar.
Less than U calcite on joint places.
145,0-153.50 becomes gradually coarser grained to 2mm,
uppar and lower gradational contact? are over 3.0m and 1.5m
respectively.
153.50-163.20 Fine-grained massive flow, very hard and
"rings". From 158.0 5X feldspar.
CARBONATE ALTERATION/CARBONATISED fea )
Med. grained with white-grey grains 4 x 1mm in med. grey
weakly foliated matrix. These could be calcite grains, or
felsic fragments, as unit is strongly calcite (fizzy). Weak
foliation at 55 0 .
ALTERED DACITE (2d)
Soft, light-med. grey, fine grained, non-magnetic, but has
acircular glassy crystallites, as in dacite. Soft, but only
weakly calcitic. In part it is a coarse fragmental. Lower
section is "calcite breccia". Has soapy feel suggesting high
sericite.
MASSIVE MAFIC FLOW (la)
Fine grained, dark green, hard. Minor (IX) calcite lined
fractures.
