RECESS – Woodland by canal.

Bethan Glover.

This location is a backup location as to where I will take my photos if for some reason I am unable to use my first, desired location.

Address and map of location.

Why is it a suitable location for the scene?• Due to the genre of my music magazine being pop, I believe that the

natural settings of the woodland will create a positive, childlike atmosphere to the photos graphs due to it the audience may be able to connect to the model who is in the woodlands due to they might play with their friends in places similar.• The natural environment also gives a preferred reading of the model

being eco-friendly.

The availability of the location.• Due to this location being a woodland and by a public canal, there availability

times for taking photographs is not limited at all.• However, there may be more peak times throughout the day where people

walk their dogs or children are playing around the area so would be more difficult to take the photos wherever and without people accidentally being in the background of some of the photos.• Also, even though it is available 24/7, it is more dangerous to go of a night

time when it is dark and you cannot see clearly where you are walking. Also, have to be mindful of thieves in these types of areas who may be there at the time and see that you have a camera and will be willing you rob you.

Power sources

• As the location is a woodland there will be no plugs around Therefore, the camera will have to be fully charged before leaving to take the photos and any additional lighting other than the natural, weather lighting will have to be portable and fully charged before use.

Lighting issues at the location.• As the photographs will be taken outside, natural lighting can have an affect

on photographs such as, the sun may be bright that day, making the face of the model really bright so unable to fully see their facial features.• Furthermore, if the sun is bright that day the trees around may cause

shadows on the model affecting the photos.• Bad weather could also have the same affect, as the bad weather would

make the scenery a lot darker, therefore, the flash would be needed. However, sometimes the flash can have an affect of making the model stand out and darkening the scenery around them.• The lighting that I would be using would also not be fully controllable and

due to it being a normal bulb could also give off an orange glow which would appear on the photographs.
