All even numbers taste just great

When they end in a 0, 2, 4, 6, 8

I’m a number cruncher and my name is Bod

I like numbers when they’re odd

All odd numbers taste just fine

When they end in a 1, 3, 5, 7, 9

Topic Tasks

These activities can be completed over a couple of weeks and should be used to support your child’s learning alongside

Maths and English.

We’re Going on a Bear Hunt

1. Read ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’ by Michael Rosen. You could use props to re-tell the story.

2. Make visuals and props to go along with the book. Have some real grass, get a teddy bear, make a cave from furniture, and find

things to use for all the parts of the story.

3. Find out about bears. What types of habitat do they live in? What do they eat?

4. Find some pictures of bears and try to draw your own. Or create bear masks using paper plates!

5. Watch this video of Michael Rosen performing the story. https://youtu.be/ytc0U2WAz4s Could you perform your own reading?

6. Go on an Imaginary Bear Hunt - Take the spirit of this book outdoors and make your own bear hunt. Your bear hunt might be at a

local park or in your own backyard. Use the lyrical pattern of the story to describe what you see and hear in your surroundings.

Walk to your destination, singing along the way. Then quickly run back, just like in the story. Don’t

get caught by the bear!

7. Make a collage of the different scenes in the story using different materials, e.g. cotton wool for

the snowstorm, blue fabric for the river etc.

8. Make a list of the different types of weather that the family encounter. Find out about each type

of weather. What does it feel like? How does it affect us?
