Converting Temperatures

• Today you will be able to convert temperatures from degrees Celsius to degrees Fahrenheit and vise versa.

• Definitions for this lesson are:• Degrees: the measure of temperature, how hot or cold something

is• Celsius: using the metric system • Fahrenheit: using customary system

The thermometer to the left shows common temperatures in both degrees Fahrenheit

and Celsius.

We use the formula when converting from Celsius to Fahrenheit.

When using the formula, simply plug in the given degree in Celsius and solve

using order of operations.
