Reading Simple Sentences Activity

Play this board game to help the cat reach the reading children! In order to help the cat, you must

read sentences and match them to a picture.

First, assemble the two game pages together. Each player chooses a cat game piece and places it on the start. Shuffle the picture cards and deal them out

to each player.

The object of the game is to be the first player to match three sentences with their picture. Each player rolls the die. The player with the highest number goes first. Roll the die and move that

many spaces on the game board. If you land on a star, choose a sentence. If your sentence matches a picture in your hand, you have a match! If not,

place the sentence on the bottom of the pile. Play continues until a player has made three matches or

a player reaches the end of the game board.

After game play, write the sentences you matched during the game and draw your own picture.
