STARTING POINTSTARTING POINT 3
STARTING POINTSTARTING POINT
The website is an universal comunication tool and we should be able to take the most advantage from it.
There are too many Charitable Organizations in the UK so we have to make a diference from the rest. It means that if we have a good website, then we have something that a lot of charitable organizations doesn´t have, so we are making a diference against them.
Today we have a complete website in contents but with the handicap of being mainly focused on the comunication ReachOut! – Mentors.
The current website was designed years ago with the objective of being a tool for comunicating with mentors and potential mentors, today our necesities have changed, so we need a "face lift" to re-direct our website to funders and focus on showing an image of loyalty, credibility and professionality of ReachOut! to them.
Sometimes we are not able to provide quick and concise information to funders through the website.
3
OBJECTIVESOBJECTIVES
We need a website directed and focused to funders and to any one researching about us. We should be able to attract funders interest by our website.
Our website must have easy navigation and be as most visual atractive possible.
We should be able to provide lots of information to who is visiting us and, at the same time, we must provide this information concisely and clearly.
We should expand our current approach (focused on comunication betwen ReachOut! and mentors) to an approach much more diversified, meaning that we have to be conscious that not just mentors are going to visit our website.
Essential importance of the multimedia contents in our website. Comunication through images better than through words when it´s possible.
We should be confident about refering our website to funders, knowing that if they visit us we will become more attractive to them to support us.
4
MAIN IDEAS (I) MAIN IDEAS (I)
Main priority: the new website must be mainly directed to potential funders . We should be able to use the website as a basic tool for "selling" our task.
Concentrate content on themes. Give everyone just what they are looking for. A funder doesn´t expect any kind of information about mentor´s trainning for example.
The organization of the website must be quite "flat" so the visitor does not have to dig too deep into our website to find what he/she is searching for. Most visitors will at best not go further deep than to the 3rd level.
Massive use of the format "Question-Answer", it is the best way to give quick and concise information: anticipating visitors possible questions they would have about us and providing them with answers.
Focus on multimedia content. We have lots of multimedia contents (specially images) and we should take and advantage from this. Because it is always better to talk through images than through words, even more if our images are from kids.
5
MAIN IDEAS (II) MAIN IDEAS (II)
A well designed site encourages visitors to stay on the site and learn more about us. Some of these visitors may be potential donors.
We should be able to convert visitors (potential donors) into donors.
Our website needs to do some fast-paced promotion of the causes we are working for, our track record, our goals, and how they can contribute to social welfare.
Everything should be viewed and evaluated with the eyes of the visitor: What´s in for me?
Navigation must be easy and transparent on all pages.
6
BENEFITS EXPECTEDBENEFITS EXPECTED
Once launched, we must have a easy navigation website able to provide information about us in a segmented, visual, and precise way.
We should be able to attract funders interest, through what they see on the website, converting their visits to the website into funds for us.
We should have a website full of multimedia contents that could show everyone who visit us the huge quantity of projects we run and the number of people who benefit from ReachOut!´s task.
Our first priority should be to convince quickly anyone, that colaborating with ReachOut!, is hugely profitable and something that they can feel proud about it.
We should be proud of of our website, having the confidence that when we recomend some one to visit it we will have win in credibility and profesionality against them.

WORK TEAMWORK TEAM
The work team will be formed by: John, Pete, Amy and Javi.
At the same time we would like to have everyone involved, meaning that it would be fantastic if we could have everyone´s feedback and ideas constantly.
John and Pete will be the "Project Managers" and Amy and Javi the "developers"
Amy will be the responsible of developing the technical side of the website and Javi will provide the contents to her.
8
TASKS AND RESPONSABILITIESTASKS AND RESPONSABILITIESOnce approved the general layout and established the main prioritie, Amy and Javi will carry on working on the website and start with the website contents.
The daily routine of the project will be responsability of Amy and Javi, as John and Pete have other priorities at ReachOut! The main decissions should be consensuated betwen John and Pete.
John and Pete could give weekly feedback and correct things they wish to change.
Based on John´s and Pete weekly feedback Amy and Javi will have a weekly meeting to establish priorities for the following week.
As we have space to host the website "prototype", we will love to have everyone´s feedback and ideas. The most opinions we have, the better is going to be the new website.
9
EVALUATIONEVALUATION
10
The evaluation phase will be taking part at the end of January during two weeks once the website is finished. We would like to have everyone involved in it.
As we have space to host the website "prototype", we will love to have everyone´s feedback and ideas frequently. The most opinions we have, the better is going to be the website.
TIMINGTIMING
The website should be ready for January.
Then (end of January) we could start the evaluation phase involving everyone in ReachOut!
The website should be up and running in February, after the evaluation phase.
