Kindness Tips & Tricks We can teach our children how to be kind
by modeling and practicing at home.
Use magic words like Please,
Thank you, and You’re Welcome
Take time to share as a family. This
can be as simple as sharing
highlights from the day.
Work as a team! Help each other
out with homework or chores.
Acknowledge or express
appreciation, even for the smallest
deed.
Be a positive part of your
community by recycling, saying
“hi” to a neighbor, or lending a
helping hand.
Benefits of Teaching Kindness Teaching and encouraging kindness is related to many of the
following positive outcomes:
- Happy children! There is a natural good feeling that results
when we do an act of kindness, even if it’s small.
- Higher self-esteem. The endorphins in our brains when we
do something kind increases our sense of belonging.
Children will feel like they can have a true impact on their
environment.
- Kindness increases our connections with other people on a
deeper level.
- Improved academic success. The feel good effects of being
kind help increase children’s concentration and memory,
which greatly impacts learning.
- Better mental health. Acts of kindness increase serotonin
levels, the natural brain chemical that improves mood.

During R.O.C.K. Week Look Forward to: - Kindness Stations during lunch recess – Students will have the
opportunity to visit Kindness Stations where they can make
cards, write letters, and draw pictures for others - Random Acts of Kindness Challenge – All students will receive
a checklist with numerous kind deeds. Please encourage your
child to complete as many as they can! - Character & kindness lessons provided to teachers
- Dress up spirit days!
- Character & Kindness Posters around campus

- ¡Niños felices! Hay una buena sensación natural que resulta cuando hacemos un acto de bondad, aunque sea pequeña. - Mayor autoestima. Las endorfinas en nuestro cerebro cuando hacemos algo aumenta tipo nuestro sentido de pertenencia. Los niños sentirán que pueden tener un cierto impacto en su entorno. - La bondad aumenta nuestras conexiones con otras personas en un nivel más profundo. - Mejora el éxito académico. La sensación de ser buenos efectos de concentración y de memoria tipo ayudar a aumentar infantil, que afecta en gran medida el aprendizaje. - Una mejor salud mental. Los actos de bondad aumentan los niveles de serotonina, la sustancia química natural del cerebro que mejora el estado de ánimo.
