March 2007 Newsletter Beach Walk The City of Clearwater is leading the redevelopment of south Clearwater Beach through an exciting $30 million project known as “Beach Walk.” It is an integral component of Beach by Design, the master plan for the overall development of Clearwater Beach. Beach Walk consists of four (4) phases which are described by the City as follows: Phase I: Coronado Drive – 12 month construction cycle (completed) The first phase provides pedestrian improvements to Coronado Drive just east of the beach. Wide sidewalks will be added and the road converted to three (3) lanes Phase II: North End of S. Gulfview Blvd – 12 month construction cycle The second phase is the construction of the north end of Beach Walk, relocating S. Gulfview Boulevard through the existing parking area, and constructing wide promenades on both the east and west sides of the new road Phase III: South End of S. Gulfview Blvd. – 12 month construction cycle The third phase of the project is the construction of the south end of S. Gulfview Boulevard, which will mirror improvements made during Phase II Phase IV: The Finishing Touches – 6 month construction cycle This phase will consist of “clean up” work, restoration of dunes and decorative touches prior to completion of the project You may follow Beach Walk progress on the City of Clearwater’s web site at www.MyClearwater.com . Their web site is regularly updated with Beach Walk news. Aqualea (aka Hyatt) is located in the center and Indigo Residences (e.g. condos) at the south end of Beach Walk. Beach Walk
