Research Plot Harvesting VersatilityThe RCI Research Plot Harvesters are used to harvest test plots of alfalfa, grass, switch grass, or other forages and/or biomass crops. RCI offers two models – the 36A Research Plot Harvester with a 36-inch cut and the 48A Research Plot Harvester with a 48-inch cut. Both models can be configured to mount on a John Deere 1580/1585 front mower, John Deere 3038E or larger utility tractor or as a towable power unit.

RCI Research Plot Harvesters are designed to collect optimum samples from your plot in a hopper size and bagging sample volume that suits your needs.

Harvesting Unit Product Highlights

• 36A and 48A harvesting units are interchangeable regardless of the power option used.

• Overall harvesting unit width – 36A – 48 in. 48A – 6o in.

• Cutting flail for a clean, fine cut 36A – 26 knifes 48A – 30 knifes

• Knife arrangement and blower paddles provide for reduced particle size which reduces the volume for each plot and allows the hopper system to carry more plots in the field

• Adjustable gauge wheels and skid shoes allow for infinite adjustment of cut height from 0-6 inches

• Knock-down roller is adjustable for a wide variety of crop conditions

• Spring-loaded belt tensioners reduce harvesting unit maintenance

• Options for bagging system or rear hopper, both with integrated scale system

There are three main choices of supplying power to the RCI 36A or 48A Research Plot Harvesters. The 36A or 48A Harvest Unit can be installed on a new or existing compatible front mower, utility tractor, or towable power unit. RCI can supply the power unit or install on a customer-owned power unit as needed. The choice is yours.
