    1925: Scheme on Sahiwal breeding started in Shergarh (Okara)

    1938 : A Sahiwal cattle scheme (10 yrs) was launched1956 : Shah Jewena Cattle Farm Jhang was started

    1962 : Sahiwal cattle breeding was started at Bahadurnagar

    1973 : Sahiwal cattle were shifted at Fazilpur, Rajanpur

    1979 : LES, Kalurkot, Bhakar started Sahiwal cattle breeding

    1980 : LES, Khizarabad, Sargodha was established

    1984 : Progeny Testing Programme at Govt. farms was launched

    1986: LES Shergarh was established by transfer from PLDB.

    Criteria for the Purchase of Sahiwal Male Calves at RCCSC

    The bull calf will be:

    True to breed

    pedigreed (A.I or Natural)

    purchased @ Rs. 500/ per kg live weight

    selected with minimum live weight of 80 kg

    selected with maximum live weight of 130 kgs(if more, consider as 130 kg)

    weaned at the time of selection and purchase

    purchased having sire and dam with +ve EBVs of 305-day Milk yield.

    DNA-testing for parentage confirmation will be carried out. In case of any

    wrong parentage, the price received by the owner will have to be

    deposited back by him in government treasury and bull calf will be

    forfeited in the favour of Government.
