Like other electric products, the EcoSmart Metro electric scootercan and is intended to move, and it is thereore possible to lose control, allo and/or get into dangerous situations that no amount o care, instruction orexpertise can eliminate. I such things occur you can be seriously injured or die,even when using saety equipment and other precautions. RIDE AT YOUR OWNRISK AND USE COMMON SENSE.

    This manual contains many warnings and cautions concerning theconsequences o ailing to maintain, inspect or properly use your EcoSmartMetro electric scooter. Because any incident can result in serious injury or even

    death, we do not repeat the warning o possible serious injury or death eachtime such a possibility is mentioned.

    APPROPRIATE RIDER USE ANDPARENTAL SUPERVISIONThis manual contains important saety inormation. It is your responsibility toreview this inormation and make sure that all riders understand all warnings,cautions, instructions and saety topics and assure that young riders are able tosaely and responsibly use this product. Razor recommends that you periodicallyreview and reinorce the inormation in this manual with younger riders, andthat you inspect and maintain your teens scooter to insure their saety.

    The recommended rider age o 16 and older or the EcoSmart Metro electricscooter is only an estimate, and can be aected by the riders size, weight and/or skills. Any rider unable to t comortably on the scooter should not attempt

    to ride it. A parents decision to allow his or her teen to ride this productshould be based on the teens maturity, skill and ability to follow rules.

    Keep this product away rom small children and remember that this productis intended or use only by persons who are, at a minimum, completelycomortable and competent while operating the product.

    DO NOT EXCEED THE WEIGHT LIMIT OF 220 pounds (100kg).Rider weight does not necessarily mean a persons size is appropriate to tor maintain control o the EcoSmart Metro electric scooter.

    Do not touch the brakes or motor on your EcoSmart Metro electric scooterwhen in use as these parts can become very hot.

    Reer to the section on saety reminders or additional warnings.

    ACCEPTABLE RIDING PRACTICES AND CONDITIONSAlways check and obey any local laws or regulations which mayaffect the locations where the EcoSmart Metro Electic scooter maybe used. Ride deensively. Watch out or potential obstacles that could catchyour wheel or orce you to swerve suddenly or lose control. Be careul to avoidpedestrians, skaters, skateboards, scooters, bikes, children or animals whomay enter your path, and respect the rights and property o others.

    Do not attempt or do stunts or tricks on your EcoSmart Metro electricscooter. The scooter is not made to withstand abuse rom misuse such asjumping, curb grinding or any other type o stunts.

    This product was manuactured or perormance and durability, but is notimpervious to damage. Jumping or other aggressive riding can over-stress

    and damage any product, including the EcoSmart Metro electric scooter, andthe rider assumes all risks associated with high-stress activity.

    Be careul and know your limitations. Risk o injury increases as the degreeo riding diculty increases. The rider assumes all risk associated withaggressive riding activities.

    Maintain a hold on the handlebars at all times. Do not activate the throttle unlessyou are on the product and in a sae, outdoor environment suitable or riding.

    Never carry passengers or allow more than one person at a time to ride theEcoSmart Metro electric scooter.

    Never use near steps or swimming pools.

    Keep your ngers and other body parts away rom the drive chain, steeringsystem, wheels and all other moving components.

    Never use headphones or a cell phone when riding.

    Never hitch a ride with another vehicle.

    The EcoSmart Metro electric scooter can operate more quietly than othermotorized products may operate. Use care when in the vicinity o pedestriansor others who may have diculty hearing your approach. Use handbell (notincluded) to sound warnings when appropriate.

    Do not ride the EcoSmart Metro electric scooter in wet or icy weather and neverimmerse the product in water, as the electrical and drive components could bedamaged by water or create other possibly unsae conditions.

    The EcoSmart Metro electric scooter is intended or use on fat, dry suracessuch as pavement or level ground without loose debris such as sand, leaves,rocks or gravel. Wet, slick, bumpy, uneven or rough suraces may impair tractionand braking and contribute to possible accidents. Do not ride the EcoSmart

    Metro electric scooter in mud, ice, puddles or water. Avoid excessive speedsthat can be associated with downhill rides. Never risk damaging suraces suchas carpet or fooring by use o an EcoSmart Metro electric scooter indoors.

    Do not ride at night or when visibility is impaired.

    PROPER RIDING ATTIREAlways wear proper protective equipment such as an approved saety helmet(with chin strap securely buckled), elbow pads and kneepads. A helmet may belegally required by local law or regulation in your area. A long-sleeved shirt,long pants and gloves are recommended. Always wear athletic shoes (lace-up shoes with rubber soles), never ride bareooted or in sandals, and keepshoelaces tied and out o the way o the wheels, motor and drive system.

    USING THE CHARGER

    The charger supplied with the electric product should be regularly examined ordamage to the cord, plug, enclosure and other parts. In the event o such damage,the product must not be charged until the charger has been repaired or replaced.

    Use only with the recommended charger.

    Use caution when charging.

    The charger is not a toy. Charger should be operated by an adult.

    Do not operate charger near fammable materials.

    Make sure power switch is in the o position, unplug charger anddisconnect rom product when not in use.

    Do not exceed charging time.

    Always disconnect rom the charger prior to wiping down and cleaningyour scooter.

    Remove contents rom box. Remove the oam separators that protect the components rom damage during shipping.Inspect the contents o the box or scratches in the paint, dents or kinked cables that may have occurred duringshipping. Because the EcoSmart Metro Electric scooter was 95 percent assembled and packed at the actory, thereshould not be any problems, even i the box has a ew scars or dents.

    ASSEMBLy AND SET-UP

    qAttaching the Front Wheel

    WARNING:Failure toproperly tighten the collar bolts mayallow the handlebars to dislodgewhile riding and may cause youto lose control and all. Whencorrectly tightened, the handlebarswill not rotate out o alignmentwith the ront wheel under normalcircumstances.

    Note:The cable and wire assemblyrom the handlebar must not bewrapped around the steering

    tube or handlebar. Sharp bendsor twisting o the brake cable cancause the brakes to malunction.

    1Face the handlebars orward

    with the throttle on the right andbrake on the let. Depress thepush button located on the rontork and insert the handlebarstem until the button lockssecurely into the stem.

    2Tighten the collar clamp using a

    5mm allen wrench.

    qAttaching the Handlebar

    1 Remove the packing materialrom the ront ork.

    2Remove lock nuts (A) rom theaxle bolt and insert the wheel intothe ront ork. Lock washers shouldace outside o the ork.

    3Insert the tab on the lockwasher (B) into the hole on theront ork and tighten lock nutsusing two 15mm wrenches.

    qAttaching the Seat and Luggage Rack

    1 Slide the seat tube through theluggage rack and into the rametube down to the saety line on theseat tube.

    2The clamp o the luggage rackshould be above the seat clamp.Adjust seat to the desired height.Seure the seat by tightening thecollar clamp bolt using a 5mmallen wrench.

    3Adjust the luggage rack to thedesired height and tighten the 4bolts on the luggage rack with5mm allen wrench and 10mm openwrench.

    qCharging the BatteryYour electric scooter may not have a ully charged battery. Thereore it is a good idea to charge the battery prior to use. Initialchargetime:18hours Runtime:upto40minutesRechargetime:upto12hours, Averagebatterylife:250charge/dischargecycles

    depending on the level o depletion

    1Turn power to the OFFposition. Plug the charger into thecharger port as shown.

    2Plug the charger plug into awall outlet.Note: I charger lights do not turnon when plugged into the wall, tryanother outlet.

    WARNING: Alwaysdisconnect your EcoSmart Metroelectric scooter rom the chargerbeore cleaning.

    Note:I your charger does notlook like the one illustrated,your unit has been supplied

    with an alternative charger.The specications and chargingprocedure would not change.

    The charger has a small windowwith one LED or two LEDs toindicate the charge status. Reerto the illustration on the chargerunit or the actual charging andcharged status indications oryour model charger.

    Chargers have built-in over-chargeprotection to prevent battery rombeing over-charged.

    Be sure to properly align thegroove on the charger inputplug with the correspondingsocket on the case; otherwise,no charging action will occur.

    ASSEMBLy AND SET-UP

    Note:The pressurized air suppliesound at gasoline stations aredesigned to infate high-volumeautomobile tires. I you decide touse such an air supply to infate

    tires, rst make sure the pressuregauge is working, then use veryshort bursts to infate to the correctPSI. I you inadvertently over-infate the tire, release the excesspressure immediately.

    1Using a bicycle style pumpequipped or a Schrader-type valve,infate the tires to the PSI indicatedon the sidewall o the tires.

    qInating the TiresTires are infated when shipped, but they invariably lose some pressure between the point o manuacturing andyour purchase. Low tire pressure can decrease the ride time o your unit.

    Turn power switch OFF before conducting any maintenance procedures. WARNING:The brake is capable o skiddingthe rear tire and throwing anunsuspecting rider. Practicein an open area ree romobstacles until you are amiliar

    with the brake unction. Avoidskidding to a stop as this cancause you to lose control and/ordamage the rear tire.

    2 I the brake is too tight or tooloose, use a 10mm open wrenchto loosen the nut or additionaladjustment on the brake cable.Securely tighten the nut when

    nished.

    1To adjust the brake cable play,thread the brake lever adjusterinorout1/4to1/2turnuntilthe desired brake adjustment isattained. Most adjustments are

    complete at this step. I brakestill needs urther adjustment,proceedtostep2.

    WARNING:I a batteryleak develops, avoid contact with

    the leaking acid and place thedamaged battery in a plastic bag.Reer to the disposal instructions atlet. I acid comes into contact withskin or eyes, fush with cool wateror at least 15 minutes and contacta physician.

    WARNING:Batteryposts, terminals and relatedaccessories contain lead and leadcompounds.Wash your handsafter handling.

    REPAIR AND MAINTENANCE

    qBattery Care and DisposalDo not store the battery in temperatures above 75 or below -10 F.

    CONTAINS SEALED LEAD ACID BATTERIES. BATTERIES MUST BE RECYCLED.

    Disposal: Your Razor product uses sealed lead-acid batteries which must be recycled or disposed o in anenvironmentally sae manner. Do not dispose o a lead-acid battery in a re. The battery may explode or leak. Do notdispose o a lead-acid battery in your regular household trash. The incineration, land lling or mixing o sealed lead-acid batteries with household trash is prohibited by law in most areas. Return exhausted batteries to a ederal or stateapproved lead-acid battery recycler or a local seller o automotive batteries. I you live in Florida or Minnesota, it isprohibited by law to throw away lead-acid batteries in the municipal waste stream.

    qChargerThe charger supplied with the EcoSmart Metro electric scooter should be regularly examined or damage to the cord,plug, enclosure and other parts and in the event o such damage, the product must not be charged until it has beenrepaired or replaced.

    qChecking Spoke Tension

    WARNING:Regularly check the spoketension and retighten thespokes whenever loose. I

    you have any doubt, ask anexperienced motorcycle orbicycle mechanic to inspectyour spokes to determine ithe spokes need tightening oradjusting.

    1Veriy spoke tension by grasping and shaking each spoke. Spokeshould not be loose rom hub. Look or any play between spoke fangeswhere it mates with hub. Try to turn nipple using your ngers. Youshould not be able to spin any nipple by hand. I one or more spokesare loose, or i you can turn any nipple using your ngers, all spokesmust be checked and need to be tightened with a spoke wrench.

    TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE

    Scooter does not run

    Charge the battery. A new battery should have been charged or at least 18hoursbeforeusingthescooterforthersttimeandupto12hoursaftereach

    subsequent use.

    Check all connectors. Make sure the charger connector is tightly plugged intothe charging port and that the charger is plugged into the wall.

    Make sure power fow to the wall outlet is on.

    You may check to see i your charger is working by using a volt meter or askyour local Razor authorized service center to test your charger or you.

    Check all wires and connectors to make sure they are tight.

    The circuit breaker (next to on/o switch) will automatically shut o thepower i the motor is overloaded.An excessive overload, such as too heavy a rider or too steep a hill, couldcause the motor to overheat. I the scooter suddenly stops running, waita ew seconds and then push the breaker to reset the circuit. Correct theconditions that caused the breaker to trip and avoid repeatedly tripping thebreaker.

    Charge the battery. A new battery should have been charged or at least 18hoursbeforeusingthescooterforthersttimeandupto12hoursaftereach

    subsequent use.Check all wires and connectors. Make sure the battery connector is tightlyplugged into the charger connector and that the charger is plugged intothe wall.

    Make sure power fow to the wall outlet is on.

    Even with proper care, a rechargeable battery does not last orever. Average

    batterylifeis1to2yearsdependingonscooteruseandconditions.Replaceonly with a Razor replacement battery.

    Reer to adjusting the brakes instructions on page 4.

    Use only on solid, fat, clean and dry suraces such as pavement or levelground.

    The tires are infated when shipped, but they invariably will lose somepressure between the point o manuacturing and your purchase. Reer toinstructions on page 4 o this manual to properly infate tires.

    Make sure you do not overload the scooter by allowing more than one rider

    atatime,exceedingthe220lb.maximumweightlimit,goingupahillortowing objects behind the scooter. I the scooter is overloaded, the circuitbreaker may trip and shut o power to the motor. Correct the drivingconditions that caused the overload, wait a ew seconds, and then push thebreaker to reset the circuit. Avoid repeatedly tripping the circuit breaker.Use your ngers to twist the caliper adjuster in either direction until rotor iscentered between pads.Reer to adjusting the brakes instructions on page 4.

    TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE

    No action required. This is normal or some chargers and is no cause orconcern. I your charger does not get warm during use, it does not mean thatit is not working properly.

    Apply a lubricant such as 3 in 1TM

    or Tri-FlowTM

    to the chain.

    Use your ngers to twist the caliper adjuster in either direction until rotor iscentered between pads.

    Tire InationPeriodically inspect the tires or excess wear and regularly checkthe tire pressure and re-infate as necessary. I you get a fat tire,

    the inner tube can be patched or a new tube can be purchasedrom Razor or an authorized repair center.

    Loose PartsCheck and secure all asteners beore every ride. Make suresteering stem clamp bolts are locked properly in place. There

    should not be any unusual rattles or sounds rom loose partsor broken components. I you are not sure, ask an experiencedmechanic to check.

    BrakeCheck the brakes or proper unction. When you squeeze thelevers, the brake should provide positive braking action. Whenyou apply the brake with the speed control on, the brake cut-oswitch will stop the motor.

    Frame, Fork and HandlebarsCheck or cracks or broken connections. Although broken ramesare rare, it is possible or an aggressive rider to run into a curb

    or wall and wreck and bend or break a rame. Get in the habit oinspecting yours regularly.
