Transcript of RAYMOND WEIL Genève - Catalogue 2011
In 2011, RAYMOND WEIL marks 35 years of history and is celebrating its ruby anniversary with the world of luxury watchmaking. The ruby, one of the most precious stones, represents victory, love, happiness and the passion of a family that has built a well-established manufacturer among the biggest while keeping a human dimension.
Through our collections with musical connotations, such as MAESTRO, NABUCCO, PARSIFAL, DON GIOVANNI, or family associations, such as NOEMIA, or reflecting our state of mind, like FREELANCER, each year we enjoy traveling with you to the rhythm of time.
This year, RAYMOND WEIL is again creating watches for you that are ever more horological and refined, including a new collection called JASMINE, which is a pure reflection of the Brand’s DNA: classical with Roman numerals, timeless with its harmonious and fluid forms, traditional with its blued hands.
Throughout the pages of our 2011-2012 catalogue, you will enjoy the watchmaking know-how and the creativity of a Brand that never stops innovating, always thinking more about the people who wear our watches, you, our customers today and tomorrow.
Have a wonderful journey through the world of RAYMOND WEIL!

The saga of three generations, who understood how to turn their
independence into their greatest strength.
Through creativity, watchmaking know-how, accessibility and above all,
independence, the RAYMOND WEIL dynasty has been inventing and boldly
reinventing itself, while still preserving the DNA of its original success.
If know-how is handed down traditionally from generation to generation,
so is the passion for watchmaking! Don’t be misled by appearances,
RAYMOND WEIL, which has experienced an exceptional and constant
expansion for more than 35 years on the international markets with its
undeniable Swiss Made quality, is a family business. Today, Elie and
Pierre Bernheim, the 3rd generation, have joined their father, the son-in-law
of Raymond Weil, Olivier Bernheim, as directors, becoming in their turn the
guardians of an exceptional heritage. Thus, the family structure
is imposing its style with a human face in the jungle of a highly competitive
market; and behind the family spirit lies an extraordinary vision of performance.
In 35 years, and with the arrival of two successive generations,
RAYMOND WEIL, created in 1976 by its founder of the same name,
has succeeded in evolving over time. The evolution of its product range
with the introduction of new, more sophisticated, mechanical models,
the reinforcement of the opening price point collections, as well as the
broadening of its communications are some of the Brand’s success factors.
Like musicians who compile musical notes into a work of harmony, the four members of the RAYMOND WEIL “clan” all know how to compose
as a team and as individuals.
At the very beginning in 1976, Mr. Raymond Weil dared to claim his independence and created his own brand in the middle of a watch industry crisis.
In 1982, Olivier Bernheim joined the company and became its Managing Director and General Manager in 1996. His dynamism, his entrepreneurial
and visionary spirit and his demonstrated sense of aesthetics enabled the Swiss watchmaking company to develop internationally, while preserving
its family identity. In 1999, he founded the Research and Development Department, which invented many of RAYMOND WEIL’s own innovations.
In 2006, the family company proudly celebrated its 30th anniversary with the arrival of the third generation at the helm, Elie and Pierre Bernheim.
For the Brand’s partners, family continuity is a guarantee of equilibrium, stability and continuity. However, the younger generation, with its fresh
ambitions, also incarnates renewal: a new visual identity, a new approach to luxury and the use of new technologies.

Music and art are at the centre of the RAYMOND WEIL universe. The Swiss watchmaker is imposing itself as the orchestra conductor with collections
named after the most famous operas, the creation of one of the main photography competitions, the RAYMOND WEIL International Photography
Prize, and a vocation as sponsor in the art milieu. The new advertising campaign will reflect this universe, so dear to the Brand. Produced in a
concert atmosphere of opera and music, the RAYMOND WEIL timepieces will find their place, immersed in the sounds of the greatest works of art.
In 2011, RAYMOND WEIL combines 35 years of history and is celebrating its ruby anniversary with the world of luxury watchmaking. The ruby,
one of the most precious stones, represents victory, love, happiness and the passion of a family that has built a well-established manufacturer
among the biggest while keeping a human dimension.
RAYMOND WEIL’s 2011 novelties reflect both the modern innovative design and the traditional values of the Brand, as well as the attractive
price positioning. They clearly demonstrate the family’s understanding of clients’ expectations.
In 2011, RAYMOND WEIL is launching a brand new female line: the jasmine collection. In the Brand’s purest tradition, the new jasmine collection
combines all the elements of RAYMOND WEIL’s feminine watches. With its voluptuously rounded, curved case, jasmine, exuding modernity,
classicism and exclusivity, is the perfect reflection of the RAYMOND WEIL woman.
The maestro collection, launched already in 2010, demonstrates the profound attachment of the Weil-Bernheim family to their horological roots
and their desire to offer the final consumer classical pieces. The various models soberly explore the thousand and one ways of interpreting harmony,
discretion and classicism. With a new moon phase, a chronograph and a calendar version, maestro plays its part in today’s passage of time.
The maestro Lady, with a mechanical movement, offers a combination of technical details and subtle aesthetics to women.
After 20 years of success, parsifal is reinventing itself this year through several creative variations, each sublimely elegant and refined. The new
compositions imagined by RAYMOND WEIL underline the emblematic lines of the collection: bezel with gadroons, refined style and sophisticated bracelets.
The freelancer collection continues its evolution whilst remaining true to the Brand’s classical watchmaking tradition, with up-to-date lines,
dials in timeless shades and increasing refinement.
The nabucco range, renowned for its sleek, powerful and elegant design, now boasts a new version in titanium and stainless steel: nabucco Inverso.
With its “12” in Roman numerals and yellow hands that illuminate the dial, the nabucco welcomes a new design in its line, while remaining true
to the collection’s creative values and mythical forms.
“INDEPENDENCE is a state of mind” remains the leitmotiv of the family-owned Company. This motto offers a clear indication of why RAYMOND WEIL
stands out amongst luxury watchmakers as an audacious, youthful, dynamic, innovative brand, which has successfully adapted to changes
in its field – and adopted the innovations needed to remain a market-leader. “INDEPENDENCE is a state of mind” embodies the approach of both
the firm and the people behind its success – and pays tribute to the patrimony and heritage of the family, whose force is its independence.

1976 | Mr. Raymond Weil founded the brand during a period of crisis for the watchmaking industry. His goal was to democratize watches in producing
timepieces with a new concept and design. Independence, savoir-faire, aesthetics, and creativity embodied the Brand’s founding values.
1982 | Olivier Bernheim, Raymond Weil’s son-in-law, joined the family Company and became President and CEO in 1996.
1990 | The emblematic men’s and ladies’ parsifal collection is launched. With its blend of complications, noble materials and innovative
design, the collection enables RAYMOND WEIL to assert its credentials within the Swiss watchmaking industry.
1999 | The creation of a Research and Development department has contributed to RAYMOND WEIL’s enjoyment of full control over
the watch-design process. By embracing the latest technological innovations, R&D played a major role in RAYMOND WEIL’s innovations –
such as the development of the complication for the GMT function of the famous don giovanni così grande Two Time Zones,
and the patented, quick and easy interchangeable bracelet system for the ladies’ shine collection.
2006 | Elie and Pierre Bernheim, RAYMOND WEIL’s 3rd generation, joined the company, ensuring family continuity and guaranteeing stability
in the eyes of the Brand’s partners.
The new ladies collection shine started to light up in 2006. The different facets of the shine made this jewel-watch a “must”.
2007 | In 2007, two star collections of RAYMOND WEIL are launched: nabucco and freelancer.
The former is a men’s mechanical collection featuring an imposing 46 mm case, water-resistant to a depth of 200m and integrating high-tech
materials. Sophistication, watchmaking precision and charismatic design are all attributes that have characterized the nabucco collection
from its beginnings.
The freelancer collection, on the other hand, a nod to those independent professionals wishing to remain masters of their destiny, is a range
dedicated to both men and women. With its audacious blend of technique and modernity, refined style and contemporary colors, freelancer
is totally in line with the great Swiss watchmaking tradition.
2010 | More than ever inspired by music and the desire to honor it, RAYMOND WEIL has launched the maestro collection. The timepieces
demonstrate once again the Brand’s profound attachment to its horological roots and its desire to offer a piece of history. The various models
soberly explore the thousand and one ways of interpreting a certain idea of harmony and discretion
2011 | In 2011, the family owned company is proud to celebrate its 35th Anniversary with the maestro 35th Anniversary Edition. This timeless
piece in 18k yellow gold demonstrates the matchmaking know-how and precision of the manufacturer.
One year after its launch, the maestro collection is a worldwide success with its new Phase de Lune, Calendar, Chronograph and Ladies’ versions.
Women continue to be at the center of the Brand’s preoccupations with a new collection called jasmine. The jasmine collection, all in roundness
and delicacy, embodies pure femininity.

Inspired by the mythical lyrical momentum of Giuseppe Verdi, nabucco emanates power and nobility
of rare intensity. Dedicated to gentlemen with personality, this prestigious collection exalts a very masculine
and charismatic architecture, joining strength and audacity. Titanium, carbon, steel, rose gold…

As a homage to Richard Wagner ‘s opera, the parsifal collection celebrates the noble and chivalrous
values of the opera’s hero in its own special way: staying true to the design of its early models and
preserving their pure aesthetics. Since its inception in 1990, parsifal has represented the perfect
reflection of RAYMOND WEIL’s attachment to tradition, as the inexhaustible source of inspiration. Still just
as elegant and refined, this historical collection by RAYMOND WEIL preserves its fundamentals, such as
a bezel with “godron décor”, a distinguished feature recognized in all ladies and gents variations.
Completely reworked to mark its 20th anniversary in 2010, the fifth generation collection displays
resolute contemporary lines and demonstrates once again its innate capacity to evolve at the heart
of the trends, gracefully harmonizing the desires of its era.

In line with the “parsifal style” dating
back 20 years, the parsifal chronograph
remains 41 mm in diameter. Discreet,
refi ned subdials for the hours, minutes and
seconds are ingeniously spaced around
the dial, with the date-window delicately
positioned between 4 and 5 o’clock.
The innovative contrast between the
elegant curves and the imposing
chronograph underlines the originality
of this stunning timepiece.

The four new compositions devised by RAYMOND WEIL
underline the emblematic lines of the collection: bezel with
gadroons, refined style and sophisticated bracelets.
The first gents two-tone model, with automatic winding
mechanical movement and 38-hour power reserve, features
a distinctive curved day of the week window at 12 o’clock, in
addition to the square date at 3 o’clock. The ladies models
sport, a quartz movement in its heart. The rose gold of the bezel
and the indexes offers to these two models a delicate contrast
to the silver dial and the polished steel links of the bracelet.
The collection’s other two new models, a gentlemen version
(39 mm) and a ladies version (28 mm) identical in appearance,
form a refined duo that lends itself to joint ownership, symbolizing
a firm union experiencing the inexorable passage of time together.
Here, the interplay between the steel and rose gold materials is
enhanced by a black dial with mysterious depths, providing
a splendid backclothfor the rose gold Roman numeral indexes.

The freelancer is so much more than a watch. This timepiece gives a nod to those
independent professionals wishing to remain masters of their destiny. This subtly elegant
collection asserts its urbane personality and strength of character again this year.
The freelancer collection is, above all, a tribute from Elie and Pierre Bernheim
to their grandfather, Raymond Weil, in recognition of the spirit of independence he
cultivated and passed on to the Brand’s future generations.
Available in three case sizes, 29 mm, 38 mm and 42 mm, the freelancer sits well
on any wrist and lives up to all expectations. With three hands and a date window, a
visible balance wheel or a chronograph, the collection is enhancing its attributes.

Contemporary colours, pure design, sober outlines,
the chronograph version of the freelancer is full of character…
An audacious blend of technique and modernity.
Along with the geometric contrast between the sharp-angled
indexes and circular subdials, the choice of rose gold adds
to the timepiece’s distinguished appearance. Extra dynamism
comes from curved arc date window at 3 o’clock, fl anked
by a horizontal aperture for the days of the week.
Each of the three subdials of the freelancer chronograph
has its own personality, differing in size and surround.
Although it is the smallest dial of the three, the small seconds
subdial stands out with its applique and accompanying screw,
which reinforces the chronograph’s innovative visual appeal.
The mechanical movement, with circular graining to
the oscillating weight, has a 46-hour power-reserve and
28,800 vibrations per hour. To start (or stop) the chronograph
function, simply press the push-piece at 2 o’clock, then re-set
by using a second push-piece at 4 o’clock.

A new flower has just bloomed in the RAYMOND WEIL garden.
Full-bodied, voluptuous and yet delicate, jasmine, the new exclusively feminine
collection of the Swiss watchmaking Brand, adorns itself in all its finery,
blossoming like the most beautiful of flowers on ladies’ wrists.
Jasmine, a name from a far-away place, from Asia
and the Orient, embodies the absolute femininity of its wearer.
Whichever interpretation you prefer, whether it be the Chinese first name,
“Jian Ming”, the first part of which represents the good and the beautiful;
or the queen of the flowers in India’s gardens, where it has been cultivated
since the dawn of time; or the soft and ever gentle thorn that pierces
the heart of lovers chosen by Kama, the Hindu god of love,
the name “Jasmine” already speaks for itself.

In the Brand’s purest tradition, the jasmine collection combines all the elements
of RAYMOND WEIL’s feminine watches: a voluptuously rounded, curved
case; horns merging perfectly with the bezel in its most discreet version, or
submerged in the brilliance of its diamonds in the set version; bracelet wrapping
harmoniously around the wrist in refi ned elegance; dial embellished with
blue-tinted, leaf-shaped hands – jasmine exuding modernity, classicism and
exclusivity is the perfect refl ection of the RAYMOND WEIL woman.

The maestro collection, launched in 2010, demonstrates the profound attachment of the Weil-Bernheim family
to their horological roots and their desire to offer the end-consumer classical pieces. The various models soberly
explore the one thousand and one ways of interpreting harmony, discretion and classicism. With a new moon
phase, a chronograph and a calendar version, maestro plays its part in today’s passage of time. The maestro
Lady, with a mechanical movement, offers a new way of combining technicality and subtle aesthetics to women.

Like the instruments of a symphony following the metronomic tempo of the conductor’s
baton, the hands of RAYMOND WEIL’s maestro Chrono march past at full speed, with
allegro vivo. Second after second, minute after minute and hour after hour, the chronograph
version of the maestro strikes its pose and plays its part in today’s passage of time.

A few minutes before the concert, the soloist is getting ready in her dressing room. A fi nal touch of mascara,
a thin pencil line under her eyes that are shining with emotion, and a hint of lipstick; she looks at herself in the mirror…
Her cheeks blushing slightly. The musician stands up; the rustling of her sequined dress mingles with the excited murmur
of the audience, awaiting her entrance. On her wrist the maestro Lady whose beating movement matches that of its owner’s
pounding heart. In a moment, thousands of musical notes will hypnotize the audience, waiting with bated breath.

Inspired by the first name of Raymond Weil’s granddaughter, the noemia collection celebrates
modernism with a light femininity. Significant delicateness with just the right amount of sensuality,
noemia accompanies today’s ladies with charm and elegance. The case’s subtly curved forms
are often highlighted with diamonds, while the dial features relief Roman numerals. Sparking with
seduction, the collection gracefully explores all aspects of the feminine personality.

With its refined lines, tango masters the art of movement with precision. Available in ladies and gents
models, this collection offers harmony as perfect as that of a pair of Argentinean dancers. The models
in this line combine vigor and sensuality, exuding distinction through their well-balanced proportions and
signature pearled tango bezel. Esthetic purity goes hand-in-hand with a clear requirement for functionality,
particularly with respect to optimal readability. A tribute to the watchmaking expertise of RAYMOND WEIL.

Tradition, this is what is handed down from century to century: a practice,
a body of information, a way of thinking, doing or reacting, inherited from the past.
With its variations for ladies and gents, tradition is loyal to a timeless, classic
spirit that spans generations. Quality of execution, accessible luxury, durable style,
tradition in its square or round version invites you to share another vision of refinement.
