Why coating need Defoamer ?
During production as well as container filling and application,Foam may arise in many kinds of coatings. Foam obviously influences production capacitity, density and film propertises.
The DEFO, defoaming agents, will prevent a foam builing-up and also provide persistent, long-term foam control, especiallyin combination with small doses of polysiloxane-based agent.

Carbodilite Waterborne V-series are waterborne polycarbodiimide resins which contain carbodiimide [-N=C=N-] group with a hydrophilic segment.
V-series are multifuctional crosslinkers that react with active hydrogen compounds. Properties, such as hydrolysis stability, adhesion, water and chemical resistance are improved. The recommended application of V-series to base resin is approximately 3~7% (solid/solid).

CARBODILITE HMV-8CA is a thermoplastic powder which contains carbodiimide group [-N=C=N-]. It improves anti-hydrolysis property for various type of polyester resin.
Polyester resin tends to degrade by the hydrolysis causing lower mechanical properties. Remaining carboxyl groups in the resin as well as those caused by the hydrolysis act as catalysts to accelerate hydrolytic decomposition of the resin.
CARBODILITE reacts with these carboxyl groups, suppressing the catalytic promotions. Also CARBODILITE introduces cross-linking by the same reactions to fasten the amputated molecules. By these combining mechanism, CARBODILITE can effectively suppress the hydrolysis.

Applications:
It is mainly used in fiberglass reinforced unsaturated polyester to improve mechanical strength and aging resistance. Application of LP-401 in epoxy paint containing high content of titanium dioxide or clay can reduce dosage of titanium oxide and solvent, increase dosage of clay without changing the viscosity of system, and improve adhesion to glass and metal. LP-401 can be used to treat such inorganic fillers as metal powders to improve dispersion and anti-setting.

One Shot Process
1. 일반적 시스템은 쇄연장제를 사용하지 않고고분자 polyol과 isocyanate를 직접 반응시켜경화하는 저경도 시스템이다.
2. 경도는 NCO와 OH 비로 조절한다.3. Polyol로서는 다관능 polyester 계를,
isocynate로서는 물성이 양호한 T-65를 주로사용한다.
4. 쇄연장제를 polyol과 병용할 경우에는premixing하여 isocyanate와 반응시킨다. (이경우 쇄연장제로서는 NCO와의 반응속도가고분자 polyol과 상이한 아민류는 적합하지않다. Isocyanate로서는 TDI외에 액상 MDI가사용되는 경우도 있다.)

1. One Shot 법에 비해, 상분리 진행이 용이하며, 고물성의 발현이 가능하다.2. 발열량이 작기 때문에 대형 주형이 가능하다.3. PPG 형태 Prepolymer는 저점도로 작업성이 우수하다.4. MOCA를 가교제로 사용하여 내가수 분해성이 우수한 Elastomer 제조가 가능하다. (기계적 물성과 내마모성이 다소 떨어짐)5. Adipate 유형 Prepolymer 사용 엘라스토머는 기계적 물성, 내유성 및 내열성은 우수, polyester계이기 때문에 내가수
분해성이 약한 단점이 있다.6. NDI 사용 Prepolymer는 점도가 높고 저장 안정성이 나쁘기 때문에 성형 가공 직전에 합성하여 사용한다. (기계적 물성,
내약품성, 내열성 등이 양호하며 특히 내열성에 관해서는 PU Elastomer 중 가장 우수)
