Radiant heating warms the objectsin the room, not the air. This allows

thermostats to be lowered asmuch as 4F without sacrificingcomfort levels. These loweroperating temperatures can reducefuel consumption, typically savingbetween 20 and 30 percent peryear in heating expenses.

Room-to-room control

Its easy to zone the system usingmultiple thermostats. This allows

you to adjust temperatures in asingle room or a group of rooms,based on activity and usage levels.For example, a guest room overthe garage can be kept at a lowertemperature when not in use.

RAUPEX pipe can be

installed using a variety of

techniques, depending on

the construction method.

Most common in new homes,poured installations involve eitherpouring gypsum-based concreteover RAUPEXpipes, or placingpipes in a concrete slab. When thesystem is activated, warm watercirculates through the pipesand the concrete is warmed.The floor retains the heat andevenly distributes the warmth

throughout the room.

Pipes can be installed in a normal concrete

slab, either on or below grade, usually withno design changes to the slab.

Pipes can also be installed abovesuspended wood floors and encased ina thin slab overpour, usually 1.5" thick.

When a poured floor just isntpractical, such as when remodelingan existing room, RAUPEX

pipes can be installed under asuspended wood floor, with pipesplaced in the joist space. Heattransfer plates are then used toevenly distribute the heat.

In some structures, it is more convenientto install RAUPEX pipes under a suspendedwood floor, with pipes located in the

joist space.

RAUPANEL is a great option for retrofit and

new construction applications because it isinstalled without the concrete overpour.

However, these are not the onlypossibilities for radiant. Dontoverlook other panels, such aswalls and ceilings, which makeideal radiant surfaces. With theproper design techniques, youllenjoy a highly effective radiantsystem when PEX piping is placedwithin a stud wall or ceiling.These other surfaces can providea perfect solution for retrofit radiantsystems and rooms with floorareas that are too small to handlethe heat load.
