This Trial will be held in an indoors, heated facility on a matted surface with a tarp. There is crating space indoors. Please bring a tarp or mat to put under your crate. You may also crate in your vehicle. NOTICE: WE HAVE A DESIGNATED AREA FOR POTTYING YOUR DOG. ANY EXHIBITORS FAILING TO USE THE DESIGNATED AREA CAN BE FINED AND YOU COULD BE ASKED TO LEAVE THE GROUNDS, NO REFUNDS GIVEN. PARKING: We have parking directly in front of the building and overflow parking just to the right of the building as you face it, up the hill. Please do not park on the south (left as you face the building) side of the building as that parking area belongs to other tenants.

Open to all breeds and mixed breeds. Dogs MUST be registered with Barn Hunt to participate in this trial.

Trial entry limits:

For Friday, Judges are limited to 4.5 hours of judging and a maximum run value, which will required this club to limit entries accordingly.

For Saturday and Sunday, Judges are limited to 8 hours of judging and a maximum run value, which will required this club to limit entries accordingly.

Any Judge of Record at this Event may be used as a Load Balancing Judge in any ring. Judge of Record and Event Official dogs may be judged prior to Event start or as the first dogs of the Event.

Entry Fees

Postmarked before September 30, 2019: Pre-entry fees: $15 for Instinct, $20 for Novice and Open, $25 for Senior and Master, $25 for Crazy 8’s. Postmarked on or after September 30, 2019: Entries received after early entry date: $20 for Instinct, $25 for Novice and Open, $30 for Senior and Masters, $30 for Crazy 8’s. Maximum of 10 entries per envelope. Day of Show Entries (if trials have not filled): $25 for Instinct, $30 for Novice and Open, $35 for Senior and Masters and $35 for Crazy 8’s.

Entries at the above fees will be accepted in the order received until closing date of September 30, 2019 with the Trial Secretary or until the maximum entry limit is reached. Electronic entries and payments accepted – see Payment section. If the trial does not fill with pre-entries, late entries will be accepted until limits are met. Entries post-marked on or after the closing date must pay late entry prices. A wait list will be maintained after the trial fills. Entries received before opening date will be shredded. MOVE UPS OFFERED FROM ONE TRIAL TO THE NEXT. Day of Show entries: If we don’t fill, we will take Day of Show entries from 12 PM to 12:15 pm on Friday and on Saturday and Sunday from 8:00 AM to 8:15 AM from (if you want to make a trial secretary happy, email her with your dog’s info ahead of time). If you think that you will earn a major title (RATCH or above) during the trial, please let the secretary know so that we can be prepared with awards. AWARDS: Ribbons will be awarded for first through fourth place in Novice, Open, Senior, and Master classes in each height division. Qualifying ribbons will be awarded for all qualifiers in the standard classes, including instinct. New Title Ribbons will be awarded to those who qualify, excluding Instinct. RATCH and above rosettes will be awarded. The B classes will be awarded ribbons for first through fourth with the heights combined. Note: A is for a class in which this dog has not titled; B is for a class in which this dog has earned that title. Not applicable for Crazy 8s or Instinct.

Register your dog one line at www.barnhunt.com. Allow at least 48 hours to receive a Barn Hunt number. Handlers are responsible for entering and writing legibly the correct Barn Hunt number

for their dog on the entry form. An incorrect number may result in any legs earned being forfeited. Food & Drinks There will be a lunch break at the judge’s discretion. Water and soda will be available. Lunch is on your own, there are several fast food restaurants nearby. Judges and Volunteers will have lunch provided. Volunteers: We need your help! All tasks are simple and we will train you! You get free lunch. There will be a daily Volunteer Raffle Basket. There will be sign up sheets at check-in and you can also sign up if you register for the trial online. We especially need people who can stay at the end of each day to help with change over and tear down. Direction to the trial site: Take 494 to Pilot Knob Road in Mendota Heights. Turn north on Pilot Knob Road and the building is at the corner of Pilot Knob Road and Mendota Heights Road at the stop light.

The final confirmations will be emailed to all exhibitors no later than Friday, October 4, 2019. If you do not receive an email by Friday night, please contact the trial secretary. Dogs will not be run in any particular height order. Dogs being handled by the same person will be separated into different staged groups. Height divisions: Small – Dogs 13” and under, Medium – Dogs 13.1-18”, Large – Dogs over 18”. Parking: You may park in the main parking and the auxiliary parking area. THERE IS NO STREET PARKING ALLOWED. PLEASE SEE THE PHOTO BELOW FOR PARKING AND POTTY AREAS. There is NO SMOKING OR VAPING in this facility or on the grounds. If you must smoke or vape, you will need to do so inside your vehicle and dispose of the butts in the vehicle as well. Dogs must be ON LEASH at ALL times unless they are in the ring. Dog exercise area: Please use the designated exercise area and pick up after your dog and dispose of waste in appropriate containers in the exercise area. Any exhibitor failing to do so may be excused without benefit of refund if the Trial Committee deems the exhibitor to be in violation of this requirement per BHA requirements.

Collars and Leashes: Dogs may not be brought to the line in any disallowed collar. Dogs may not be brought to the start box on flexi-leads. Approved collars include flat snap or buckle collars of solid construction and leather or nylon leads. Limited slip martingale collars are allowed. Dogs MUST run ‘naked’, without a collar/harness. Dogs should be brought to the ring with collars/harnesses which can be easily and quickly removed and replaced. All dogs must be on leash at all times except when in the ring. Bitches in season are eligible for entry but will be required to be kept separate from all other dogs and will be run in panties at the end of the class. Review the Barn Hunt rules for other details. If bringing a bitch in season, please inform the trial committee prior to the trial, and you must inform all exhibitors at the judge’s briefing. Loud/Disruptive Dogs: Dogs that are loud and disruptive may be asked to locate away from the rings/crating area and/or staged away from the other dogs getting ready to compete. Any dog behaving in a threatening or aggressive manner toward another dog or a person may be dismissed from the trial if justification is found to do so by the judge and/or trial committee. Terrier sparring is not allowed on trial grounds. Any dog that is sick, injured or lame will be excused from the trial grounds. Judging Assignments: Any of the Judges of Record for this event may be used to judge any of the classes at this event, at the discretion of the Club, under the rule provisions for Load Balancing, Relief Judging and Splitting. Qualifying scores are assigned to the official Judge of Record for that class. Crating should be secure. Dogs can get excited at Barn Hunt events. Dogs must be securely crated at all time or with owner on a leash. Dogs may not be left unattended outside of a secure crate.
