What is Raspberry Pi? The Raspberry Pi is a series of credit card

sized single board of computers.Created by Eben Upton , CEO of Raspberry

Pi Foundation.Raspberry Pi Foundation’s aim is to “promote

the study of computer science”.

Home Automation Home automation introduces a degree of

control to certain electronic and electrical appliances.

Working of proposed system: Login into home g-mail account.Raspberry Pi starts reading the subjects of e-

mails from the account specified in the code.The control signal is generated according to

it on the corresponding GPIO pin.The process is repeated continuously at an

interval of 30 seconds.

Advantages:

It’s cheaper.Flexible and programmable.Supports wide variety of peripherals and

accessories.

Conclusion Raspberry Pi proves to be a smart , economic

and efficient platform for implementing the home automation.

The systems can be accessed from any internet –based device including handheld devices such as mobile phones.

The systems allows multi-vendor appliances to be added with no major changes.
