RAPID DEPLOYMENT INFLATABLE DAM SYSTEM
Rapid Deployment Tiger Dam System

Unique Features of the Tiger Dam System
The system has been designed to be rugged, stable and adaptable to a wide variety of situations and climates
Tiger Dam is comprised of a series of engineered interlocking tubes that when filled with water form a temporary dam, or with concrete to create a more formidable structure.
Can be configured in any shape, any length from a few feet in length to miles and from and can be stacked to 32ft in height.
Tiger Dams are modular and simple to use (like lego blocks). They can be custom made to any height or diameter to meet the specific need of the project. The components are easily connected and can be stacked. This avoids wasting valuable time and resources keeping Louisiana’s communities and precious coastline intact.
Design Features Continued
Speed is a critical component in building a containment barrier so the system was designed to be deployed rapidly. Depending on the method of filling, each standard tube (19inches x 50 feet) can be filled in as little as 3 minutes.
Each Standard Dam weighs only 65lbs.(empty), can be handled by one or two men thus eliminating the need for heavy equipment. When full of water weighs 6300 lbs, while the concrete filled dams weigh 14,000 lbs to help ensure dam stability.
After each deployment the equipment is simply drained, cleaned and rolled up for future use. The Concrete dams can be picked up and moved to another location, or recycled for future concrete use.
With proper care the reusable system (tube/dam) is designed to last up to 17 years or longer if not left in the sun… (its maximum UV rating).
Dams can be repaired with a customized adhesive patch system specifically designed to adhere to our material.
Engineering
The system has been independently assessed for function and safety by a leading certified engineering laboratory.( Engineer Report is attached)
Research and development was conducted at the University of British Columbia’s Ocean Engineering Test Center .(BC Oceanic institute)
Test results showed that the system exceeded its design criteria and preformed well under a wide variety of situations.
Engineering
Is stable when subjected to wave action. Burst test demonstrated a maximum internal pressure of
17 pounds per square inch. The system typically operates at 2 pounds per square inch.
Puncture tests met or exceed all applicable ISO standards. The fabric is a heavy 28 ounce Vinyl coated polyester
coated with vinyl in a propriety fashion. The fabric is resistant to a wide range of chemicals and is UV stable.
The valves are 2 inch check valves with a bayonet style connector.
The connecting straps are 2 inch polyester with a ten thousand pound tensile strength.
The anchors are 26” long and can support 4500 lbs each. Recommended number is dependant upon specifications of each project.

Environmental Impact
By using the Tiger Dam systems we can minimize the impact on the surrounding areas, therefore improving the overall benefits of the project.
Both the Tiger Dam and the concrete Tiger Dam are environmentally friendly. The water system will utilize water directly from project area site. When the project
is complete the water can be pumped out, allowing the dams to be moved to another locations and reused.
The concrete Tiger Dam are filled with a flow able recycled concrete. Upon project completion, should the dams need to be removed, they can be cut into sections and lifted away, redistributed to another job site in tact or taken to be broken down and recycled again.
