CHAPTER CHANGES Irelands Franciscan Friars have a new Provincial, Fr Aidan McGrath OFM, a native of Banbridge, Co. Down, who was elected at a chapter meeting at the Franciscan College in Gormanston, Co. Meath, last month. Before his election, Fr Aidan had been serving as General Secretary to the Franciscan Order in Rome. Fr. Joe Condren was elected as Vicar Provincial and the members of the council are Brs. Stephen OKane, Niall OConnell, Padraig Breheny and David Collins. Here is MerchantsQuay we also have a number of changes. Br. Niall OConnell has been appointed Guardian, while Fr. Kieran Cro- nin has returned to the Quays as Vicar. New to the community are Fr. Richard Kelly and Fr. Adrian Peelo, who will take over St. An- thonys Novena each Tuesday at 12 Noon and 8pm. We say a fond farewell to Fr. Brendan McGrath who goes to Galway, Fr. Joe McMahon, Fr. Gearoid OConaire and Br. Philip Lane who go to Ennis and Fr. Hugh Mc Kenna who is heading to Rome. We wish them all every good wish in their new ministries. The Franciscans commissioned this free concert as a way of saying Thank You to the people who come to our friaries and support our work and ministry. This is a beautiful piece, about an hour in length. Please come and join us for this special FREE concert! Ireland’s Franciscan Friars have a new Provincial, Fr Aidan McGrath OFM, a native of Banbridge, Co. Down, who was elected at a chapter meeting at the Franciscan College in Gormanston, Co. Meath, last month. Before his election, Fr Aidan had been serving as General Secretary to the Franciscan Order in Rome. Fr. Joe Condren was elected as Vicar Provincial and the members of the council are Brs. Stephen O’Kane, Niall O’Connell, Padraig Breheny and David Collins.
