Sneaky Red...

A little moment where Akame stalks Reli & Kurome in the past...

_________________________________________________________

Akame kneeled at the top of the large, tall tower. Her long black hair flowing like silk through the wind while hundreds, thousands of people walked the streets below her. However, she was only interested in one of them... To be technical, two, in this case.

She opened the black suit case. In it lied a pair of black, military grade binoculars fitted with high end adjustable lens. A souvenir she had gotten some time ago before joining the group of assassins known as Night Raid. After all these years they still worked in perfect condition, and were quite suited to this task. She placed them over her eyes, and gazed down below to one of the markets—that gaze was set upon the man with black hair and a matching coat, holding the hand of her younger sister.

“This is for your sake, Kurome.” Akame said to herself. Still not

understanding why her sister decided to stay with this... Incredibly odd, eccentric, volatile, chaotic man, at least that is how she viewed him. But her sister, Kurome, she saw something else. What that was, she did not know—at least not yet. Yet, what Kurome said to her, months ago, was still stuck in her head as if she heard it yesterday.

“To me, Sis, love is about seeing the light in someone who sees only darkness. That's why I'm staying with him. So me and Relinquish can create our perfect gray, together! And if you can't accept that... I'll cut you out of my life!”

What had that meant, Akame always wondered. “Perfect gray?” “Light in someone who sees only darkness?” While she did not completely grasp Kurome's words, she understood the last part. It struck her core, tugged on her heart strings. But... How could she be so dedicated towards him, so much so that she would separate herself from her own flesh and blood, when they had nothing but each other in past...? What has Kurome been through with this man to drive her this far?

That did not matter at the moment. It was Kurome's choice, yes, and Akame, while not exactly supported it, technically barely approved, and monitored it every now and then—such as today.

Down below, Kurome tugged on Relinquish's hand, leading him from shop to shop in order to search for new furniture, items, antiques, anything to fill the new house they had lived in for just a month. They had the basics; a couch and footstools, bed in the master and guest rooms, a fridge to keep their food in, curtains and blinds, a bookshelf for Relinquish's books, etc. But they needed more, to make the house feel more comfortable to them. So they decided to go shopping for the day, seeing if anything caught their eye.

Finally, in this one shop, Kurome found a mirror that she believed was perfect for the bedroom. It was large, appealing, and was fitted in exceptionally well in regards to their budget.

“Relinquish, look at this one!” Kurome said. Walking up to the mirror and inspecting it while she held Relinquish's hand. “This looks amazing...”

“Indeed...” Relinquish replied, being as enchanted as she was with the object.

Out of nowhere Kurome began to release a few chuckles from mouth.

“Something wrong?” Relinquish asked.

“Nothing. It's just...” There was pause in Kurome's words. “A long timeago, Sis used to believe that mirrors were a gateway into a different dimension, and that creatures from another world could come out of them. She was so scared of looking into one at night!”

Chuckles turned into full laughter, while a smile grew across Relinquish's face. He was so happy to see Kurome enjoying herself after everything the two have been through. He was about to say something, however, the man was cut short after feeling a presence, a foreboding one at that. It felt as if a needle went through his skin, coming from above.

Kurome did not turn around, but saw his reflection in the mirrors. Relinquish's head darted to the side, and his eyes were as sharp as her former Yatsufusa. He reached into his pockets, perhaps preparing to grab his weapon.

“Relinquish...” Kurome looked towards him, and placed a hand on his shoulder.

Relinquish wrapped one of his arms around her, causing a faint blush toform on Kurome's face. He then whispered into her ear; “Kurome.... We're being watched.”

“I know.” Kurome replied.

“...”

“What?” Relinquish asked with a tone of perplexity filling his voice.

“Yeah.” Kurome simply responded, innocent and sweet as the candy she munched on. “That's Sis. She's been eyeing us since we came here... You didn't know that?”

“......”

“Wanna tell me why she is doing this?” Relinquish turned his glance away from the spot where he suspected the presence, doing his best to not alert Akame of him knowing her location.

“Sis is just... Protective. She needs to get used to me being with you.”

“... Ah, I see.” Kurome felt Relinquish's grip weaken. His voice mixed with sadness, and his head began to tilt down. “I suppose I still cannot be trusted.”

“No!” Kurome almost immediately replied. Holding on to his hand even tighter than before. She wanted all of his attention focused on her, not thinking about anything or anyone else. “Forget about Sis. Let her...Go eat some steak tips or something!” Kurome laughed again, but Relinquish did not budge.

“It's alright, truly.” Placing a hand on the back of his head, Relinquish began rubbing it. “Things ain't gonna change that quickly. I get where she's coming from... Hell, I would probably do the same thing.”

“Really?” Kurome asked.

“Yeah. Everyone in the world would want to keep someone as cute as you safe.”

Kurome blushed. Afterwards she placed her hands on his shoulders, urging him to bend down ever so slightly.

“Kurome...?” Relinquish said in a shy, almost surprised tone.

“Why don't we give her something to look at, darling?” Kurome said.

Before Relinquish could answer the question Kurome closed her eyes, and placed her lips against his. Relinquish, while caught off guard fromthis sudden action, did the same. He even felt a smile grow across Kurome's face, a particularly wide one—this was Kurome grinning at the thought of knowing what her "beloved" sister is probably witnessing this right now.

Akame, still on top of the tower viewed the sight through those same binoculars. She felt as if her jaw would drop from seeing this. After a few more moments, and their kiss still did not break, Akame came to a

conclusion.

She placed the binoculars back in the base, shut it tight, stood up, and prepared to leave.

“Let's go home.” She said out loud, one could make out a blush on her face. “I've seen enough for the day.”

With a leap she descended from the tower, and jumped from rooftop to rooftop away from the two, exiting the street filled with markets.

Kurome finally broke their kiss, and turned her head to the spot where her sister had been. Relinquish gasped for air, and settled his hands on his lips, where Kurome's had previously been, still caught off guard by the rather bold action his "flower" had just performed.

While doing so Kurome crossed her arms, and had another grin.

“Take that, Sis!” Kurome said to herself, knowing that Akame wouldn'tbe back for a while after what she saw.

*The next time Kurome & Akame see each other*

Kurome: So Sis, what did you do about, hmm... Two days ago? :o

Akame: O_O.... Read a book. >_>

Kurome: Mhmm... What did you eat for lunch on that day?

Akame: .... Salad.

Kurome: You're lying. :)

Akame: What gave it away? =.=

Kurome: We both know you wouldn't eat a salad unless you had meat with it. :) ... Now stop stalking us! -_-+
