  • LYNETTEN

    Architect: CREO

NATURAL AND ARTIFICIAL LIGHT SHAPE OUR EXPERIENCE OF SPACE

AND ARCHITECTURE. LIGHTING DESIGN CAN ENHANCE THE AESTHETIC OF A BUILDING OR OUTDOOR SPACE AND

OPENS THE POSSIBILITY FOR NEW EXPERIENCES BY DAY AND NIGHT. THE

LIGHT SETTING CAN INVITE PLAY OR INSPIRE PEACE, SECURITY OR BALANCE.

LYNETTENThe Danish Lighting Design Award 2012.

Sludge incineration plant Lynetten is located on the eastern waterfront of Copenhagens inner harbour. The location makes the plant clearly visible for the people who are visiting the citys tourist attractions along the western waterfront, and particularly for those who are entering the harbour on a yacht or cruise ship.

The client wished that the beauty of Lynettens industrial character would be communicated by means of light during night-time.

Paying respect to Lynettens unique architectural features and particularly ensuring a low energy consumption solution were main requirements defined by the client.

ENERGINETEnerginets new head office was planned with a focus on minimizing energy consumption in relation to cooling and lighting.

Rambll Lighting performed all the daylight, sunlight and energy studies of Energinets new offices. The artificial lighting and the lighting controls are designed to complement the daylight availability.

  • NATIONAL GALLERY OF DENMARKNational Gallery of Denmark closed its skylights due to new fire restrictions.

Rambll Lighting designed an artificial skylight that gives more even light distribution than the original daylight openings. This formed the backbone of a comprehensive lighting scheme for the refurbished gallery.
