(a) whether Government has decided todevelop the handloom industry in the Stateof Andhra Pradesh, if so, the details thereof;

(b) the quantum of funds being allocatedin this financial year for development ofhandloom industry in the State; and

(c) whether the Ministry has receivedany proposals from Government of AndhraPradesh with regard to development ofhandloom clusters, financial assistance forhandlooms, etc., the details thereof?

Achieving potential growth in textilesector

2555. SHRI SAMBHAJICHHATRAPATI: Will the Minister ofTEXTILES be pleased to state:

(a) whether a section of textile industrieshas proposed that Price Stabilization Fund(PSF) Scheme, 10 per cent margin moneyand 9 months credit limit may help Indianspinning mills to compete withmultinational cotton traders;

(b) how far proposal along withTechnology Mission on Cotton (TMC) andintroduction of Bt. Cotton is likely to bringbetter price to farmers, prevent hoardingand speculations and achieving growth rateof 12 per cent from existing 6 per cent;

(c) whether PSF and TMC are likely toincrease production of cotton, create moreemployment, boost exports and increaserevenue collections; and

(d) if so, details thereof?

Petitions of small bullion parties ontheir outstanding dues

2556. SARDAR BALWINDERSINGH BHUNDER: Will the Minister ofTEXTILES be pleased to state:

(a) whether Prime Minister's Office(PMO) has received several petitions fromsmall bullion parties regarding inordinatedelay in releasing their legitimate dues byM/s Handicrafts and Handlooms ExportsCorporation of India Limited (HHECIL)under the Ministry of Textiles;

(b) if so, the details thereof and the actiontaken on these representations;

(c) whether Central Bureau ofInvestigation (CBI) have since given theirviews and directed HHECIL to releasepayments of small bullion parties; and

(d) if so, the details thereof and if not,the reasons therefor?
