One morning Harris and Martin were having breakfast. They looked outside and said “Man! It’s raining cats and dogs!”

Oobey, the dog came in and said, “Did some one say raining cats?” He ran outside, opened his mouth wide but all he could feel was water .

2

Oobey was really mad. He ran inside barking, “Liars! Liars!” Martin said “We are not liars! It’s raining really hard outside.”

“Did you know I went to the lollie shop and bought 20 gumballs?” Martin said. “They cost me an arm and a leg.”

3

“What! But you still have two arms and two legs!” Ooby said in surprise. “No silly! It means it cost heaps.”

Oobey did not like being tricked again so he went back to his kennel and thought, “Hmmm maybe I should trick them back.” 4

So the next day Oobey said “Lets play teachers. I’ll be the teacher and you guys will be the students.” he said. “All eyes on me!” No matter how hard they tried, the boys could not get their eyes on Oobey’s fur! 5

After an hour of trying, Harris and Martin’s brains felt weak. They could not think straight! They said, “We give up Oobey.”

“Don’t you guys know that all eyes on me is an idiom? It means look at me!” Oobey cracked up laughing.

6

And that is how Oobey the dog tricked them back!!
