In addition, Kidd served as the director of government affairs and lobbyist for the association.

A graduate of Villanova University in Philadelphia with a Bachelor of Arts in communications, Kidd also has a Master’s Degree in Organizational Development and Leadership from Saint Joseph’s University, also located in Philadelphia. and other initiatives that connect PERC with the industry’s grass roots. The Cleveland, Ohio resident also serves on the National Propane Gas Association’s Conventions Committee, and in 2007 helped launch a campaign to promote the early detection of and find a cure for prostate cancer within the propane industry.

Stephen T. Kaminski, JD, serves the National Propane Gas Association as its President and Chief Executive Officer.

His former positions include those as Chief Executive Officer of the American Association of Poison Control Centers, Executive Vice President at the American Humane Association, and Vice President of Legal Affairs at Discovery Communications. He also has spent time with the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and as a patent litigator and corporate attorney representing chemical companies and trade associations at the global law firm, Covington & Burling. Kaminski received his law degree from Harvard Law School and his bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Johns Hopkins University.

oversaw safety operations for all locations and provides positive reinforcement to employees as needed. He is most recently recognized for his role as a safety director and supervisor for TMC’s emergency response dewatering, demolition, site cleanup and abatement of 250,000 sq. ft. underground facility impacted by #4 fuel oil from AST failures at a waterfront high rise in Manhattan following Hurricane Sandy. He now manages the Mid-west region for Safety and Loss Prevention, providing loss control services and safety trainings in thirteen states. Don is a certified National Safety Council trainer, hazmat responder, fire investigator, and CETP Instructor, proctor and evaluator.

Roger Moe is a rural person. He was born in Crookston and raised on a farm in northwestern Minnesota. He graduated from Crookston Central High School and attended Mayville State College, graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. He took Masters’ Degree courses at NDSU and Moorhead State. He was given an Honorary Doctor of Law Degree from the University of Minnesota for his years of public service.

Roger worked as a teacher and wrestling coach until he successfully ran for the State Senate in 1970. When Roger was elected, he became the second youngest person ever elected to the Senate. His district was in rural northwestern Minnesota and included the counties of Becker, Clay, Polk and others.

In 1981, his colleagues made Roger the Senate Majority Leader. The Governor, the Senate Majority Leader and the Speaker of the House are the most powerful elected authorities in Minnesota. Roger held his position for 22 years - the longest ever. Roger left the Senate when he ran for Governor in 2002.

Many changes occurred during Roger’s long tenure as Majority Leader, and he has been credited with guiding the Senate, and thus the State, through those changes in a sensible and calm fashion. During this period, he became known as the voice of reason.

Roger has clearly been the most important political figure in Minnesota during the latter part of the 20th Century. Presently, Roger operates his own consulting business.

Darren Rousch, a native of Calgary, AB, completed his Undergraduate, and Masters Business degrees at Dalhousie University in Halifax, NS. completing his education, Darren ventured back to Calgary, with his now wife, and began working with Keyera Energy in 2006 as a Risk Analyst. . Rousch is currently the Director of Hedging and Analysis at Keyera based in Calgary. is an avid golfer and enjoys spending time with his wife and 2 children.

Ken Urquhart, After a 33-year career with the Minnesota State Patrol Ken retired in 2012. He was the Commander of the commercial vehicle division and spent the last few years at the executive level as Major in charge of special operations. Ken has a degree in Criminal Justice and is a graduate of Northwestern Police Staff and Command School and the FBI’s National Academy. Over the past five years he served as an adjunct instructor for Hennepin County Technical College providing commercial motor vehicle safety programs. He is currently consulting on commercial motor vehicle projects for the Minnesota Safety Council.

Mr. Houde has been with Energi since 2013, prior to which he gained experience in the construction, gas, propane distribution and environmental fields, since 2001 and has a successful track record of reducing claims and loss time injuries. In prior positions he has delivered construction services as a site supervisor and developed comprehensive safety training programs to en-sure compliance with laws and regulations. Mr. Houde

The amount of knowledge given and retained with each method. It will focus on retention and how adults tend to learn using hands on versus visual training. Future of Training after CETP—Task Based & Learning Management Systems Eric Kuster from PERC will talk about the CETP training courses that will be discontinued at the end of 2020. You will hear about task based training which will be replacing the CETP program. You will also hear about the Learning Management System that you can use to track all data and records for your in-house programs. He is currently consulting on commercial motor vehicle projects for the Minnesota Safety Council.

SPEAKER BIOGRAPHIES

Mr. Houde has been with Energi since 2013, prior to which he gained experience in the construction, gas, propane distribution and environmental fields, since 2001 and has a successful track record of reducing claims and loss time injuries. In prior posi-tions he has delivered construction services as a site supervisor and developed comprehensive safety training programs to en-sure compliance with laws and regulations. Mr. Houde oversaw safety operations for all locations and provides positive rein-forcement to employees as needed. He is most recently recog-nized for his role as a safety director and supervisor for TMC’s emergency response dewatering, demolition, site cleanup and abatement of 250,000 sq. ft. underground facility impacted by #4 fuel oil from AST failures at a waterfront high rise in Man-hattan following Hurricane Sandy. He now manages the Mid-west region for Safety and Loss Prevention, providing loss con-trol services and safety trainings in thirteen states. Don is a cer-tified National Safety Council trainer, hazmat responder, fire investigator, and CETP Instructor, proctor and evaluator.

Ken Urquhart After a 33-year career with the Minnesota State Patrol Ken retired in 2012. He was the Commander of the commercial vehicle divi-sion and spent the last few years at the executive level as Major in charge of special operations. Ken has a degree in Criminal Justice and is a graduate of Northwestern Police Staff and Command School and the FBI’s National Academy. PROGRAMS AND SEMINARS Value of Training: Classroom vs. On-line This will be led by Don Houde of E-Services. This course will focus on the difference in training methods and results of each method. The amount of knowledge given and retained with each method. It will focus on retention and how adults tend to learn using hands on versus visual training.

Future of Training after CETP: Task Based & Learning Management Systems Eric Kuster from PERC will talk about the CETP training courses that will be discontinued at the end of 2020. You will hear about task based training which will be replacing the CETP program. You will also hear about the Learning Management System that you can use to track all data and records for your in-house programs.

Future of Propane Supply in Upper Midwest: Darren Rousch of Keyera Energy Where does our propane come from today? Where will it come from in the future? Propane supply has been changing over the last 6 years and will continue to change. Be prepared with this informative presentation on where supply is headed.

Events Coordinator Presentation: Sarah Leider MPA is actively engaging outside our industry. Find out more on our outreach to better promote our industry to different organizations within our state. From school busses to farms and homes, we cover it all.

MPA Website: Robyn Sjoquist will inform you of all that is available on the MPA website, how consumers can find YOU through our website, what information we need from you, etc. You will learn how to find other MPA members, register for classes, how to post a hot deal, or a job you have available and what information can be found in the MIC (member information center).

Regulations for Truck Operators: by MN Safety Council If you are a foreman, manager, supervisor or owner of a company that employs truck drivers - this program is for you. The material covered will provide an overview of more common regulations for large and small truck operators.

NPGA Update: Steve Kaminski, new CEO of the National Propane Gas Association will give an industry update. Steve will also give a review of his prior careers and how these experiences will help him to lead the NPGA into the future.

PERC Update: Bridget Kidd will give an update on PERC activities from the past year and ongoing activities today.

Propane Resources for Marketers: In this course, Bridget Kidd (PERC) will review the resources available to you as a propane marketer. Put propane to work for you. Find out all the things that propane can do for homes, businesses, transportation, commercial and more.
