TheDepartment ofRadiology iswell repre-sented on an institutional level with Drs.JosephSullivanandEdUnderwoodhavingbeen elected as UAB Faculty Senate mem-bers. Along with previously elected Dr.MichelleMcNamara,Radiology now holdsthreeofthefourseatsintheFacultySenate.

Medical director ofUABHighlandsRadiolo-gy,Dr.MasonFrazier,began his additionalrole as Director of In-Patient Radiology onJuly 1, 2014. We would like to thank Dr.AnthonyNarducci for his prior service inthis role as his leadership led tomany suc-cessfulimprovements.Dr.TatumMcArthur started her new roleas Assistant Program Director of the Diag-nostic Radiology Residency Program, effec-tive July 1, 2014. She will work with Dr.Joseph Sullivan Director of the RadiologyResidency Program, and Assistant ProgramDirectorDr.JonBaldwin.

ProfessorEmeritusandformerchairmanoftheUABRadiologyDepartment,RobertJ.Stanley,M.D.,F.A.C.R., received theSocietyofComput-edBodyTomographyandMagneticResonance(SCBT-MR)GoldMedal.Thismedalisthesoci-ety’s highest honor and received the awardduring this year’s37thAnnualMeeting inNewOrleans–September27-October1,2014.

Dr. Stanley is oneof the foundingmembersofthe society which was created to provide in-depth education for practicing radiologiststhroughtheuseofbodyCTandMR.TheSCBT-MRsponsorscontinuingmedicaleducationandalso rewards important clinical breakthroughresearch with annual grants and award pro-grams.InadditiontowinningtheSCBT-MRGoldMed-al,Dr. Stanley is alsoa former recipientof theARRSGoldMedalandrecentlynamedthe2014SocietyofAbdominalRadiologyCannonMedal-ist. He is known globally for his lectures onbody imaging and is the author of over 180scienti ic publications. Dr. Stanley’s leadershipand commitments continue to be recognizednationally,anditisatruehonortohavehimasformer chairman of the UAB Department ofRadiologyandpartofouralumnateam.
