Radio, throughout the world, plays a vital role in educating the public about crisis, warning of hazards; gathering and transmitting information about affected areas; alerting government officials, relief organizations, and the public to specific needs; and facilitating discussions about crisis vigilance and response. Power99 has a fair history of filling these roles most effectively in the past, in close collaboration with national and international relief organization and institutions specialized in crisis mitigation. It goes without saying governmental and non-governmental organizations, working to meet IDPs crisis in Pakistan need to establish and strengthen working relationships with the Power99. Power99 has potential and experience of “acting to sensitize the mitigation organizations and to “prove itself a reliable source of usable information for crisis mitigation.
One vital factor in Power99’s effective crisis communications is the creation and repetition of precise, effective messages. Such messages had empowered people to take practical steps to protect themselves from several hazards and to demand attention by private and governmental organizations to crisis prevention, mitigation, and response. The absence of radio in crisis mitigation have demonstrable failing impact on the recognition by government officials, crisis mitigation and funding organization to realize that there is much that can be done to protect both lives and property before and during a crisis.
Power99’s Integrated Crisis Mitigation Transmission
Sensing the gravity of IDPs crisis, vital role that radio can play in mitigating crisis, Power99 launched Integrated Crisis Mitigation Program for IDPs. With the belief that the media outlet would offer, in collaboration with national and international relief organization and institutes specialized in crisis mitigation .
It is auspicious that now people and
